dcannon729
I have an SD-2 12" Subwoofer and plan to build a nice box. This will be my first box to build and need a bit of help with the design aspect/dimensions input. It is a D2. Here are the dimensions: Fs: 36.8 Hz (I want to tune to about 32) Re: 4.0 ohms Qms: 6.06 Qes: 0.58 Qts: 0.53 | Cms: 0.08 |mm/N Mms: 225 g BL: 18.9 NA Vas: 30.2 L Sens: 86.0 dB 1w/1m Le: 2.63 mH RMS: 500 watts I'm not positive how to calculate the rest that I need, and even then design the box. Thanks, guys. I really appreciate it.
Triticum Agricolam
What's your vehicle, what are your max dimensions, what amp are you going to use? You need to find out if your sub is D2 or D4 as well. dcannon729
It's a D2 I drive a 1996 Honda Civic EX. It has roughly ~11ft² of trunk space. Max dimensions for the trunk or the box?? I have two options on the amp: A boss 1200 watt, or a Pioneer 900 watt. I'll most likely use the Pioneer.
Joe X
So here is a suggestion, power: to sub rated, amp subsonic filter to 28Hz, minimum port clearance 2 1/4", figure is just an assembly guide:NOTE: If building outside you need to build a cardboard dummy box to test fit in it's way inside. dcannon729
I know this may be sad, but we all started somewhere. How exactly do I read that? And also how would I apply those things to build a box?
Joe X
I know this may be sad, but we all started somewhere. How exactly do I read that? And also how would I apply those things to build a box? If you mean my post above, you just start where it says "cut sheet list", cut those parts listed to the dimensions specified using 3/4" MDF and then assemble them like in the figure. dcannon729
Yes . I get it now. Your comment at the top though, about the amp, I'm not sure I understand.
