2008 Nissan Maxima w/ Bose amp question

as the title says i have a 08 maxima with bose. i have been told that the amp is wired at one ohm. and then i have also been told that the amp is 4ohm. what is it really wired at?? and also if it is at one ohm ....... can i replace the speakers and not be worried about blowing any equipment?

Seems correct to me, but if your amp is sending say 40wrms at 1 ohm and you put a 4 ohm speaker on there it'll prob only receive 10wrms or so. so you will have a lot less pwr going to the speaker and I doubt would improve the sound quality much/ if at all.

Two things determine your final ohm load:

1. The ohm rating of the speaker.

2. How you wire the speaker to your amp.

You have to find out how many ohms your speaker is and depending on how the amp is wired to the speaker this will dictate your final ohm load.
