Looking for a new head unit that fits my needs

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

So im looking to buy a new head unit eventually and was hoping to get advice on which one to get.

Currently running a Alpine CDA-105

So I'm looking for another single din with these features:

-no need for Bluetooth

-rcas for front, rear, and sub

-remote available

My main thing is for the screen to display all the information, not like my CDA-105 where is has to scroll through everything in big letters.

Similar to the Alpine 988x's

Now the tricky part is picking a deck that fits my needs and for a good price. EQ options or whatever are good but I'm not looking to get crazy for like competition, just has everything I need to set up a whole car system. I'm looking to spend ~200 but the cheaper the better.

I hope this is enough information for suggestions but if not, then I guess I'll continue on my research. Thanks ahead of time though!

Edit:

So far what I found on my own, the Pioneer 80prs is like the best of the single dins, but kinda high on the price for me.

And the Clarion CZ702 is one of the best bang for buck?

Have a look at the DEH-X9600BHS from pioneer. I have a friend that has one and is pretty happy with it. Same style of screen as the 80-PRS as well.

And if i remember right he picked it up for around 200 delivered...

I cant remember what the AUD:USD exchange rate was at the time but Id take a guess it was around the $1.15:$1.00 ratio so that should put you right in your price bracket.

If you leave it till the last minute, it will only take a minute.

Get the cz702 you won't be disappointed.

It should cost as much as the 80prs it's kind of crazy how it's so cheap.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

You would think but they keep going down.

I might even buy another one just to have around.

I see a lot of talk about the CZ702 but I don't know if I'll like the interface of it. Like my alpine is really simple, only thing I hate so far is how it displays the song info, like I said, I really was hoping for the dual line setup where it shows everything.

Would a CDA-9885 not be worth it?

It is a little tricky but it's easy to learn.

You won't find a better head unit for the money.
