Need advice for noob build. -Envoy

Recommended Posts

This is for a 2003 Envoy.
This is a small set-up I'm hoping to build. It will be for a daily driver. Let me know if there's anything wrong. Any recommendations are accepted.

First I'll be upgrading the electrical.

-Big 3

-XS S series under the hood. Quoted from website: "MAX Amps – 3300" (Biggest I can fit in the hood without modifications)

-270A Mechman alternator

Would I need to change the harness on the alternator for "voltage regulation"?

Would this setup effectively push a DC audio 3.5k amp / 1 DC Level 4 18" 2 ohm(1400 RMS)? Would I need another battery?

Is the amp overkill; or should I settle with a DC 2.0K amp? 2 ohm = 1200watts / 1 ohm = 2000watts

What amp fuse would I need to connect from the positive terminal of the alternator to battery?

Sound setup:

-DC audio 3.5k amp or 2.0k amp.

-1 DC Level 4 18" 2 ohm vs 1 ohm (opinions on 1 vs 2 ohms?)

i would run the 3.5k i loved mine and there is always room if you want to go bigger. and possibly another battery in the back and you will be solid.
