Manually Update Android OS???

My phone is still running 4.1.2 (yes its old and Im cheap when it comes to phones), is there a way to update the OS to 4.3? My Google searches aren't helping much, and there is nothing in the app store.

Please help.

What phone are you using? If you go under your phone settings there is a way to check for updates. Most likely your carrier hasn't pushed out an update for your phone so you can root and install a higher operation system or you might have to live with it.

Yeah, it's up to your carrier to push the update through to the phone. Some phones have additional requirements on how you can get the update. You might need to be connected via WiFi and have over 50% battery life just to see the update when you do a check for updates.

If you want to do a true "manual update" you will need to root your phone.

You can see if your phone is listed on this autoroot site to see if this is a viable option.

Its Virgin Mobile month to month. So there probably wont be an update put out.

I just need the updated Bluetooth BLE, but can't get it standalone.

Maybe Ill break down and get a new phone when I can afford to.

what phone are you using through them?i have the htc desire 816 and i just now checked for an update and lollipop 5.0 was available for me.
