Gain was at 6 of 11 x over was on 55 infrasonic filter on and all but here is what's happening the amp is getting HOT and starts smelling awful and it blew so we Got another t2500 and upgraded grounds even more and it lasted maybe 2 minutes and blew , what am I doing wrong
SnowDrifter
What's your voltage at the amp?Have you checked your subs for shorts? What method did you use to set you gain? reedal
How are you coming to "6 out of 11" with your gains? What tool are you using to set it to that point? CKRguy
The amp is coming straight from one of the batteries and it was reading 14v and we tuned it by ear ... And 6 out of 11 I mean that by the amps gain being a lil over half, but here's what we thought was the culprit originally , there was resistance from, grounding one of the batts that are going to my bass amp so,we upgraded it and now I have received my 3rd t2500 and we put the subs to a 4ohm load just to have bass for the mean time cause I ordered aanother bass amp to run 1 pair at A 2ohm load and the 2nd pair at 2ohms and the amp being at 4 ohms with barely any gain is still getting warm so,I'm completely lost
SkarredSierra
Do u not have a fuse between the amp and batt?
CKRguy
I don't have a fuse between the battery and amp, when the other 2 amps blew if you smell where power and ground and remote wires go it has no smell but smell the inputs for speaker wore it smells like ass
CKRguy
I didn't know if that info about the bad smell would help or not
JEFFYBOI
If voltage is stable, Then you are clipping the signal and roasting them unless something is shorting out maybe. If the amps are getting really hot that's a clear sign to your issue.
