detroitdb
So I built a monster enclosure, A single Sundown ZV4 18. 3cubes sealed, 9ish ported with all displacements 168 sqinches port area .. Was wondering if you guys think that I have way to much port area. It sounds great but I feel ive got a little more there. I did a 150 flat on a audio control spl meter knowing that it is definetley not as accurate as a term lab. https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipP7rjav9cD9UFdAYBJmz4M4LoNlF26ng1xhAf4Uhttps://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipP7rjav9cD9UFdAYBJmz4M4LoNlF26ng1xhAf4U 2013 DODGE CHALLENGER R/T SUNDOWN ZV4-18 CRESCENDO 3.5K PIONEER AVIC 5300 NEX ALPINE TYPE R 6.5S & 6X9'S ROCKFORD FOSGATE 1.5" TWEETS 5 C&D TECH BATTS
Triticum Agricolam
Do you know what your front chamber is tuned to? What amp are you using? I doubt you have too much port area. Triticum Agricolam
Well from a port velocity standpoint you should be fine with that amount of port. I wouldn't reduce it any. With such a large front chamber I image your system has a decent peak in output around the tuning frequency. detroitdb
for sure, I hate that its a 2-3 note wonder, but what are you gonna do right? that's why we do this. lol https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipP7rjav9cD9UFdAYBJmz4M4LoNlF26ng1xhAf4Uhttps://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipP7rjav9cD9UFdAYBJmz4M4LoNlF26ng1xhAf4U 2013 DODGE CHALLENGER R/T SUNDOWN ZV4-18 CRESCENDO 3.5K PIONEER AVIC 5300 NEX ALPINE TYPE R 6.5S & 6X9'S ROCKFORD FOSGATE 1.5" TWEETS 5 C&D TECH BATTS

You could get a wider bandwidth if you wanted, but it would cost you some output. Everything is a trade off. Joe X
OP for an easy fix you could just retune a little to hit a cabin peak and maybe win some on the meter.
