Hi, I drive a 2004 Buick LeSabre with stock alternator and stock electrical wiring. I believe I have finalized my decision on what system I want next, which is either:

Option A

SCV-1500d + 1 X-12 @ 1 ohm

Option B

SCV-2000d + 1 Zv4-15 @ 1 ohm

Now, here is my predicament. Either way whichever one of these systems I finally decide on, I will most certainly need an upgrade on my electrical system.

Being that Option A equates to roughly $850 and Option B equates to roughly $1200, I'm trying to find the best single upgrade I can make to increase my voltage or attempt to make it constant so I don't experience any drop in sound.

My total budget was $2000 for this build. I still need a custom box, and probably 0 gauge wire for either option, which probably eliminates Option B, sadly.

TL;DR: Best upgrade to keep my voltage high?

Option A is the smartest based on what you gave us.

But also, why did you decide on those two subs; what are your goals? Why a difference between a 12 and a 15 between the two options?

"Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand.

Why not do a 1500 w/ the X-15?

For 1500w, in reality a nice group 31 in the rear with 1/0 wiring and big 3 should do the trick.

Battery will be 250-350

1/0 wire will be like 60-80

With misc. things that leaves you 750+ for a box, and single 12 or 15 boxes if you build it wont cost you more than 75 bucks. So if you can pull it, I would shoot for a HO alt instead of the battery (would be 400-500) and you wouldnt need an extra battery at all if you had a 250+ amp alt.

I do believe the stock alternators on those vehicles are 105 amp units, I looked online and found 140 amp units available from autozone for $148 after core-charge. It is up to you whether or not it is worth the extra money for 35 amps, anyone else want to chime in about the 105 vs 140? http://www.autozone.com/batteries-starting-and-charging/alternator/duralast-alternator/832343_188586_4451/
