2 x 12 sundown SA's 4th order enclosure need help!!

Recommended Posts

Hey, im new to 4th order enclosures and have heard/read alot of good things about them. I want to build one to go into my 2006 infiniti m35 but i am having a hard time trying to figure out measurements for my box. I want to do a 2:1 enclosure if possible, i also want to use a 8" aero port going thru to the rear deck. Now sure how long the port has to be which is what im really confused about. I love the lows so not sure if an 8" would be idle for this? I have a mtx1501d going to them as well. any help would be appreciated thank you.

Typically cars only have enough space for sealed or ported enclosures as the space available isn't sufficient for a 4th or 6th order enclosure unless it is small enough in size for the space which would only include a small single sub. Mini vans, SUV's, wagons and trucks typically make the best vehicles to use for such enclosures, and they will most often have a wall setup or blowthrough's for best results.

I dont mind ported enclosures which is what i have in there right now. The problem is im not gettin all the bass on the inside because my trunk is all enclosed and too much bass is staying in the trunk. Which is why i would like to put the port through the rear deck. Ive seen people do it before on other forums and youtube so i know it can be done but dont know if it can be done in mine. I have to get all the measurments first then post them on here.
