BigYellowBlur78
I'm trying to build a sound system for my pool deck using marine speakers and subs. It is just an idea floating around in my head, for a party I'm going to be throwing. As of now this is what I have in mind, I want to use 2 Kicker C10 Loaded Marine Audio Boat Custom Fit 10-Inch Subwoofer Enclosure Boxes, 2 pairs of Kicker KMT674 Marine Speaker Tower System and a Kicker 12CX6005 5 Channel Amplifier to power them. Not sure on what type of deck I'll be using just yet. Now my question is can this all be hooked up without a battery, or a computer power supply unit. If so how will I be able to power the deck which will inturn turn on the amp to power the sub and speakers? Subs: Speakers: Amp:
aculous
I think it would be easier to use a home theater amp, then you have no power supply issues. You probably could use a computer power supply but I bet it would be more work then its worth.

Triticum Agricolam
Have you already bought the amp? If not, getting a home audio amp will be much easier, and probably cheaper. BigYellowBlur78
I haven't bought anything yet. What kind of amp would be best?
Triticum Agricolam
I haven't bought anything yet. What kind of amp would be best? Depends on how much money you want to spend and how loud you want to get. One way to do it would be to get one of these for the 2-way speakers: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/yamaha-500w-5-1-ch-4k-ultra-hd-and-3d-pass-through-a-v-home-theater-receiver-black/4183019.p?id=1219096894548&skuId=4183019 And one of these for the subs: https://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-spa250-250-watt-subwoofer-plate-amplifier--300-803 A little creative wiring and you would be set. Also you would be able to control everything by a remote. Or if you don't care of having stereo sound (which probably doesn't matter for what you want to do) you could get one of these to power it all: https://www.parts-express.com/behringer-nu1000dsp-inuke-1000-watt-power-amplifier-with-dsp--248-6702 Run the 2-ways off one channel, the subs off the other, use the built in DSP to handle the crossover duties. Third option, if you want to be able to push everything to the max is get this: https://www.parts-express.com/behringer-nu3000dsp-inuke-3000-watt-power-amplifier-with-dsp--248-6706 Basically same as above, but three times more power!
