Amps remote wire with stock HU

Recommended Posts

use an amp like Kicker that has signal sense turn on and you won't need to find a remote turn on. depending on vehicle will depend on how difficult it is to find a remote turn on.

Just so we're clear, Kicker amps aren't really signal sense in the sense many other amplifier are. They're actually a DC offset sense.

You can use any ignition source in the car. Your cig sockets are ignition powered for example.

You have to go into your fuse box and tap into either the ignition fuse or a fuse that gets power when you turn your ignition switch on. So get a dmm and check for power, you'll have to turn the ignition switch on and off to see if you get power with the switch on and then to see if the power stops with the switch off. You can just wrap your remote wire around one of the little fuse legs (the side that's fused) and push the fuse back in or you can get something like what's in the link and you can have your own fuse for your remote wire and the original fuse for the spot you tapped into.
