I have a 2011 Chrysler 200s 3.6l My cars stock alt is 160amp so not to bad for stock. I recently bought a Zv4 12 rev2 and a hifonics brx2400. I have 1 run of sky high ofc 1/0g to the rear so far. I want to get a d3100 for the rear but can I mix the d3100 with my stock battery?? If I do that will the life of both battery's decrease??? Also do I need a H.O alternator??? The biggest one I can find for my car is a 240amp Thanks!!

I would personally swap the stock battery to the comparable XS battery S series model. You "can" have the d3100 in the rear and the stock up front, but mixing battery chemistry's is not something you want to really do.

I have this app on my phone, I put in 2000 watts because I'm sure you aren't pushing out the full 2400 with Hifonics. I also assumed when you are banging your voltage is 13.

The results were 205 AH, which is probably what your stock and d3100 will be close to putting out. it's saying it would recommened 102 amps for an alternator.

So with that being said, I personally don't think you need an alternator and i'm not sure how accurate this app is either(ultimate car app)

As far as mixing the two batterys, I'll let that go to someone who knows more

It's not going to hurt to mix the batteries unless it's a vehicle that sits for days at a time. It's recommended to get either the D or S series equivalent of your stock battery though. Better life and performance. You don't need a HO alt but it may help. Those amps love to gulp down the current from what has been said by most members here. So the more current your alt can supply, the more efficient an inefficient amp becomes (in a sense). I say jump on that 240A if you can. Have you checked with singer alternators, mechman, and DC power inc? Actually emailed/talked to them and not just looked at their website? Not everything is always listed.

No. Not stinger. Singer.

And make sure you contact someone with an inquiry from the other two companies as well. The best three in the business.

I would keep your head focused on Singer, because honestly with DC I've had and other people as well had terrible customer service. It could take forever to get a response back from them if something goes wrong(from my experience) I finally gave up after they basically told me to give them $600 for a new one. Sent it over to Singer, fixed it and it's wonderful. Sold the DC alt to buddy still runs strong 4 years later of daily pounding. My current 270 Singer is just a damn monster, no problems for this baby.

I just messaged singer and mechman. I didn't want to message dc because a 240amp alt for my car with them is $700 and it's only $400 with mechman

what would happen if I did mix them? would anything happen. Will the lifespan of the battery's be shortened or worse??
