Need help replacing mid

So I currently have crescendo mezzo components and I blew one of the mids I believe. What I'm needing help with is deciding what to do next. The mid still works but lower frequencies are distorted sounding.

1. could the crossover have anything to do with that

2. is there a way to check

Replacement options

1. replace mezzo mid from crescendo

2. replace both with pwx6's for about same cost

3. replace both with CNF carbon mids, crossover points are similar. cost is double first two options.

1. Possibly

2. Swap mids from left to right and see if the problem goes away. If it does it's the mid. If it doesn't it may be the crossover.

If you were happy with it before the problem I would just replace it with the mezzo from crescendo.

Thanks! Didn't think of just swapping sides.

I liked it before but to be honest, the mid bass was a little lacking but still sounded great overall

It was a combination of install error, abuse of the volume knob, and not enough time tuning.
