Keagan-Z06
Hey Guys, My 2006 Avalanche. Very small system compared to the monsters on this site. Im the little kid on the block. Suggestions and critiques welcome. **Updated 30/11/15** Finally got this done after putting it on the back burner for years. I absolutely hated the rake my avalanche had. Well thanks to Tony from TBSSowners, I told him I wanted to get rid of that and he suggested the 2" lowering belltech springs with bump stops. Parts came in Friday & Sunday was Funday. boom50cal
nice truck and gear. Not a fan of the wheels, but jealous of the setup. The SMD sticker on the windshield is SICK. Gonna have to dig one of mine up for my pickup. Have you thought about going active on the front stage? Thats a killer headunit to leave on passive duties. I'm sure you could pickup a 4 channel that has passthroughs to run the rear coax's. Did the whole passive thing in my truck for a day, then went active on a cheapo Taramps 4 channel...the difference is very significant. Just gotta be careful with them tweeters lol. Keagan-Z06
Thanks man, got the truck with those rims and was looking for the original Regency 20's but had no luck, locally. When you say active what do you mean? I am pretty new to all this. Keagan-Z06
What's that little meter you have above.all of the smd meters? Its a Ultragauge EM. Wired to OBD port. I would like to eventually get a bluetooth one to work with the Pioneer using Dash Command though. When you say active what do you mean? I am pretty new to all this. Active is bi-amped. Meaning the tweeters are ran off 2 channels of the amp, and the mids are ran off 2 channels. How most people here do it, they use their headunits crossover capabilities to control the frequencies fed to the amps. In my setup, a Clarion CZ702 running a set of Sundown SA-6.5CS active off a Taramps TS-400X4, I run the mids from 50hz-3500hz with a 12db slope, and the tweeters from 3500hz+ on a 12db slope. If you take a look in your headunit's manual, more info should be under "Networking Mode" I think. http://www.bigfootmusic.com/blog/archives/2014/06/13/bi-amping_for_dummiesand_smarties On 1/4/2013 at 9:31 PM, HatersGonnaHate said: Wow. 184 posts and I think you're a fucking asshole. Keagan-Z06
So basically, I need a 4 channel amp. 2 channel for each for mid and tweet. No passive crossover and use the Pioneer to do the crossover duties? Am I right? BT obdII dongles are under $20 and in my experience I like the torque app... does that HU allow multiple BT connections?
