2006 Avalanche Regency Conversion **Updated 30/11/15**

So basically, I need a 4 channel amp. 2 channel for each for mid and tweet. No passive crossover and use the Pioneer to do the crossover duties? Am I right?

yessir. Completely correct. The Pioneer should have a Networking mode or something similar that will take care of your crossover duties. Will take some time playing around though to get everything right.

What's that little meter you have above.all of the smd meters?

Its a Ultragauge EM. Wired to OBD port. I would like to eventually get a bluetooth one to work with the Pioneer using Dash Command though.

that is the way to go.... BT obdII dongles are under $20 and in my experience I like the torque app... does that HU allow multiple BT connections?

Which one would you recommend? ELM? Funny you should ask about mutilple BT connections. I have no idea, it is connected to my iphone 6+ and my 6+ is connected to my apple watch. I've never tried it. I just ordered the 4100nex bypass as well.

HU: Pioneer 4100 NEX
Subs: 2 Rockford Fosgate R2SD4-10"

Amp: Pioneer GM A5602 wired @ 4 ohm
Rear: Polk Audio Coaxials db651s
(2) OM-1s, (1) VM-1

Might be small but its clean as hell, nice work.

Thanks man, first time ever setting up a sound system. Did everything myself with the assistance of dad from time to time.

Looks great - how do those underseat shallow mount subs sound? Have been looking for ideas for a friend's truck where he doesn't have much space to spare.

Not bad at all, I guess it depends on your expectations. I knew well I could not get a decent ported box under the Avalanche seat, so I didn't expect to hit all that low. For shallow subs they do get the job done. Rattles stuff under the garage and sounds quite clean and responsive after DD-1 tuning. If I had to upgrade I would get one of those Midgate system with 2 12's.

I will look into that, what 4 channel amp would you recommend? RF preferably but open to suggestions and my current pioneer amp sits in the factory Bose amp location which is beneath the center console or under the cup holders.

I use this one with my android phone

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ELM327-OBDII-OBD2-Bluetooth-Auto-Car-Diagnostic-Interface-Scanner-S3-/381368258771?hash=item58cb51d0d3:g:LmkAAOSwT6pV1dEP&item=381368258771&vxp=mtr

if you want to go that road with an apple device you need wifi dongle obdII

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ELM327-WIFI-Car-Scanner-for-Android-IOS-Torque-Auto-Scan-Tool-OBD-2-/262023938187?hash=item3d01d8008b:g:aCYAAOSwWKtUxgWn&item=262023938187&vxp=mtr

if you connect the HU to the obdII then you cant connect your phone... and if you connect your iphone to the obdII then you can still connect the phone to the HU since apple can only connect to obdII through wifi.... apple made their BT protocol off limits to devices they do not want you to use

I dont know of a single device that can accept multiple BT connections other than a computer... if a HU can do it then its either very rare and or very expensive

Do you have to re-connect every time the vehicle is turned off and on? I've seen the PLX dropped from 99 to 33$ but it's a pity you gotta press a button on it every time to reconnect.
