Seal it off will help but lows move air like no tomorrow. My truck does 157 at 37hz it moves some hair.. Now my buddy car does like 55-57 @ 28hz and that will rip your hair out your head.

c-pillar flat wall 157.11db on music

2 crossfire 8k

4 NSV3 18s

4 crescendo 10s

4 Rockford pro 6.5s

Quad excessive amperage 350alts

4 juicebox 3100s

What kind of vehicle? What kind of 6th order? Parallel or series tune? What kind of subs and power?

Generally speaking you need big port area your rear chamber tune low, cone area and power...

Now with that said I also run a 6th order i would first start by checking for leaks in your box, you wouldn't belive how much sealing of leaks helps, I gained 3 dB just from sealing off pin size holes inside the box.

Second I would check if your ports are tuned correctly. You can do that by playing test tones checking where the subs excursion moves the less is where your tuned to.

My port length was also wrong and I didn't have air moving and subs unloading, until I added 6" of port length and made a world of a difference...

So yes 6th order ports are very sensative

I'll bet my right nut that it's an enclosure issue.

Instead of utilizing 48 cubes for 2 18s you should rip the box out, build a 12 cube ported enclosure tuned mid 30s, seal it off and there you go. Don't fuck with 6th orders unless you're willing to quit your job and stay at home and tune/tweak the enclosure for a bit.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Haha they certainly aren't easy.

Dylan, how much power are you running? What amps and electrical to back it up?

What are your enclosure specifications? I can tell you if the design is at least reasonable: Rear chamber net volume, rear chamber tuning and port area, loading chamber net volume, loading chamber tuning and port area.

Edit: also, it very much could be because you haven't sealed off yet. Posting pictures of the build will help a lot
