Ok so ive finally gotten to the point where I would like to get some more power out of my 2000 honda accord 2.3 SOHC vtec. Lemme start off with saying that i do not want to be a ricer But i do want a faster car Ive started it with replacing the exhaust and pulling the resonater off and getting it cherry bombed NOT FART CANNED!! and I sincerly hope that they are not considered to be the same Ive got speed daddy headers on the way they will be here Saturday along with a high flow cat. I also know the I need a cold air intake and im planning on getting one soon. I know that starting off ive got a decent motor to want to get more power out of but i will never expect to pull any 10 second quarter miles or anything like that my current audio build is heavy about 300+ lbs in the trunk so yeah i know i may has well load the car with cement and ask it to go fast lol. but gimme some advice here guys what can i do to help with the added weight? is there something than can be done with the tranny to help it handle more power or use any power gains better (its an auto btw) and are there more performance upgrades besides what ive mentioned that can gain me some hp? There are pics of my audio build on my page only thing diff these days is a 4 cubic foot box(yes!!! the fucker really pounds now!) and my singer alt (michael singer is awsome) so hit me up guys and feel free to bash me lolz i don't curr.

With those upgrades you might go from 10 to 15 horsepower which is a 50% increase but still not worth it.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

What kind of budget are you on? You can do a decent amount to add power.. You won't get into major power gains until you go forced induction and it's easier to build a DOHC motor just an FYI...

Those mods you listed really aren't going to gain you to much.

If you really want to see its full potential a forged bottom end and a big turbo are what you're after.

Honestly i would chose a different platform to play with.

well Ill never be able to afford a turbo i know that and as for budget i can't spend a ton of money at a time but i can get a pice here and a piece there or save up ive got about 3 grand tied up in my audio so......... im not broke but cant just go nuts if you know what i mean my singer alt cost 439 so thats about where my budgets sits i only had to save for 2 months to get it

the honda is what i got to work with unfortunatly

In my honest opinion I would save up for a DOHC motor... Yes it will cost a few Grand but in all honesty it will be MUCH more worth it in the long run. You will see much better results out of a different platform than the one you presently have and you won't just be throwing money at the car and getting minimal gains.. Not trying to rain on the parade just trying to save you some money in the long run if you plan to build something fun and fast

Well if you can't save up for a turbo you could always just go with a shitload of nitrous and forged internals.

Well in that case i have a stupid question is there such thing as a DOHC 2.3 vtec that will slide down into a 2000 honda accord reason i ask is because my singer alt isnt exactly exchangle lol
