Well, here we are SMD. It's been over two years since I've done any building or stereo related things and it's time to get back after it. I've started to slowly collect some gear. I just bought the car this afternoon. So that means it may be a few before I get some build pics up. Work has me traveling quite a bit. Been home 8 days in the last month and a half. But enough about that. Let me show you the gear I've got so far and what my plans are...

For my frontstage I went with a pair of Eric Stevens mini horns with the comp neo drivers. They will play from 1500hz to around 16k. I may add a pair of foster supertweets tho play above 10k to add a little more to the frontstage but we'll figure that out a couple miles further down the road. I am at present looking for a pair of midbass/midrange tho pair with them. It will most likely be from b&c. 8".

For amps I chose ampere audio. I cheaped out on my last ones and I wanted to do it right this time. Here are a couple pics. I will have 5 when the system is complete. One each for the subs, one for the horns and supertweets, one for the midbass upfront, and one for the rear speakers.

I wanted to do some rear fill for extra volume and for the spacious feeling it offers. Strictly personal preference. They are eminence sealed back midrange. 10" they play from 400-3500 which is perfect for my goals.

And onto the subs. I looked a while for a pa driver that could perform well infinite baffle. The Peavey was at the top of a short list. I could've gone with ones comperable in price with more Xmas but these will do nicely. Besides they have ridiculous sensitivity and I might be able to build an exotic baffle and get another one in there. Well have to see.

I'll need to purchase a processor as well and some source unit which at this point is likely to be a 7" ipad. Incidentally, here a few photos of the car. The intent is to not alter the factory stereo, amps or head unit. Just add on.

M sport?

It's a 550i with M wheels. They're sharp. Definitely rides different than my minivan. Turn off that traction control and it's a blast to drive.
