Compustar install manuals

Recommended Posts

Looking into getting an alarm for my subaru. Usually I'm a big advocate for Viper, but ever since they've taken away their installation manuals, it's become a chore to find the instructions.

I've heard (multiple times on here) that some members are fans of Compustar....But I need to know if they also have withheld their install manuals like Viper. Compustar alarms seem to be cheaper too, which is a plus. Im specifically looking at the CS6502-AS.

so with a little digging, I found my answer. looks like Compustar did the same thing as DEI...which blows. See what I can do

I realize this is probably gonna be my own thread, literally talking to myself but fuck it...helps me think.

So I kind of found a loophole with viper (Im sure installers know about it already but I wasnt aware). Specifically the 5706 and 5901. I found the install manual for the 5901 which is an old alarm. But if you cross reference the "quick install guide" of the 5706 with the detailed guide of the 5901, the wire colors and labels are identical. They changed the harnesses, but not the wire colors.

I just have to be careful which harness Im using because some of the wire colors are used again.

when you purchase your alarm the manual is in the box for DEI and Compustar products

if nothing changes, nothing changes

Not a detailed one like they use to include. Far as I know, the only one included now is a quick install guide

detailed like what? every box I open has a sheet that shows each wire color and what it's for. then there is another quick reference sheet for the customer for remote functions.

Yeah the quick reference guide. They used to include a detailed booklit (to the tune of 20-25 small pages) of each wire and what it should be wired to, as well as what each auxilliary wire can be used for
