You would be better off having a dedicated switch panel to do what you want. The last thing you want to do is hit a bump when you are trying to activate your gadget and get the wrong one. Or even just forget what does what and hit the wrong thing. I don't blame you for thinking this, but if you knew me, my current truck has a switch panel with ~16 unlabeled switches and I almost never get the wrong one A dedicated switch panel will not allow me to keep the dash looking 100% factory. I had no intentions of using a factory radio to the point I got a factory radio delete plate and am making a custom tray for a modern HU + CB radio + HAM radio that will retract under the dash with additional switches for equipment. So no need to worry about it playing music though I think I will use one knob on it with the 'steering wheel control' volume for the modern HU so when it is behind the dash I can still control volume. Might have been on mcm, I'll see if I can find it. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
