shelves, yes shelves

Recommended Posts

i lost my other thread, but im back to this again finally. Building some honeycomb shelves. Just something to hold thenwifes knick knacks and some of my doo dads

.I started out by making a jig for my table saw. Last time i tried to use the fence and could not get good repeatable cuts. So this is much better

These are the guide rails for the jig

I marked and cut a piece of 3/4" mdf and mounted the rails to it. The sanded a bit for a smooth slide.

Added a front and rear guide that is 90° to the jig to butt the pieces against when i cut

Then added a guide on the left so each cut length would be the same

I also had to cut this piece so the blade could cut the actual pieces i want to cut.

They look like this when cut

Got me some hardware.

20160609_112634_zpsrhoon0ja.jpg

Using these nails to get things lined up, then when i glue i can use them to re-align and then nail it together

The ratchet strap holds it pretty tight after glueing

That was a ll a pain in the ass, So i made a jig to hold the shelf while I work on it.
