Derek217 Posted August 26, 2016 Report Share Posted August 26, 2016 I want to buy a 2008 Volkswagen Touareq 3.2l V6, but can't seem to find any high output alternators for it. Dont want to look to have to look at a different vehicle just because I can't find a high output alternator. Looking at minimum to put in about a 2.5 or 3K Watt system but really want to have the ability to try for a 5K Watt system in the future if I want to. Anyone know where I can find one for sale? Nightshade Posted August 27, 2016 Report Share Posted August 27, 2016 I got a quote from Singer for My 2013 Jetta GLI and he said that he can do as large as a 370 amp unit in it as well as bypass the factory voltage limit to get it to charge higher than the 13.8 volts that it charges stock. The alt that is in the car now is a 140 amp stock unit and does well, but I am going to be running some decent power in the future so I am just going to do the 370 amp unit and be done with it. I wouldnt do a 370 or such... id do a nice 270 or maybe a 320. Biggest isnt always best. ..... I like idle power. Just me. The power you even planning for future will be fine with a bit of bank and a nice 270 or so. Just me.
