99 Denali same as 99 Escalade?

Hey fellas I've been looking online at stereo wire harness adapters for my 99 Yukon Denali w/ bose, no onstar. Crutchfield recommends a single plug adapter, I've got 3 plugs going into the back of my stock deck. So I'm positive that's wrong. So I looked into cross referencing for what an escalade would need, because they're basically the same damn thing, right? Well, apparently the escalades were available w/ 2 different bose options, one designated as the "Lux" system or something like that. Bottom line, I'm hoping somebody can help me out so I don't buy the wrong shit because I need one of them relatively spendy stereo wiring "interface" deals. I think the PAC ROEM GM21A is what I need but I just wanna make sure. Help me please! I asked in the TahoeYukon forum but nobody even answered at all. Btw I looked in the above topic at Metra and basically got the same result as crutchfield. Unsuraty.

Just because the factory radio has three pluga it does not mean they will all be used when you install an aftermarket radio.

I've never had Crutchfield's recommendation be wrong.

Yea, most likely the truck is pre-wired for other options

Just like some tahoes only came with am/fm/cassette, but if you tore the dash apart there was another connection to add the cd player under the radio.

Im assuming your is the old square body style with the stick on flares that are the same as tahoe.

So it maybe possible that the additional plug you speak of is for that add on radio.

So as I was saying above if yours is a 1999 with the square body then your radio should look like this in the back

From what I remember all that Bose means on these trucks is that they are using Bose speakers.
There is no "luxury" or "premium" amplified sound (except for the rear passenger doors (but those are amplified in all of these so nothing special)).

The white/black plugs on the left is all your power/speaker connections. Its 1 plug not 2 separate ones.

For some reason I remember seeing some of these plugs as 3 separate connections, but it maybe a different model vehicle or something they changed.

Regardless the wiring layout/orientation was the same.

The red/black plug on the right is for the cd changer that sits below the radio and is an add on option when you buy the vehicle new.

So if you have that plug on your radio, and have that cd player below the radio as a separate unit (pics below) you can completely forget about having to do anything with that plug.

Changing the radio will make that cd player non functional. So you might as well just slide it out and buy the tray that can go in there to store crap like loose change, pens, lighters, etc.

The radio harness you need should look like this.

This is the cd player that some of the tahoes/yukons may or may not have but are all pre-wired for.

I dont know why I still have this thing laying around it needs to be thrown away.

But this is what the other end of the red/black plug above plugs into, and will no longer be used with an after market radio.

Like I said if you have this cd player you might as well remove it and get that tray thing to slide in its place.

Again your back passenger doors are amplified, so you will need to hook the remote from the new radio harness to the white plug harness. (i think its the pink wire but I forget, and instructions should tell you).

If you dont connect it you will have no sound out of your rear side doors.

Bose is also factory amplified so you may have to jump one of the wires on the deck harness if you are still using a stock mids and highs amp. That is if you did not install a separate amp to run them that is not wired direct from the amp to the speakers.

I went to best buy and just had them look everything up, it was the PAC lc6-4 line output converter that I ended up needing. It was pretty simple and I actually did only need the 1 big plug harness adapter with it. Turns out I only had 2 plugs going into the stock deck and one of them was for the cd changer which I just left unused. The LOC was pretty simple to hook up though, I just bypassed it for the power and ground wires, which is pretty much the only way to hook it up. Fairly straightforward when it's in front of you. Thanks for the replies though guys I appreciate the feedback!
