Dill
Hi, just currently looking for an opinion on what sub I should choose. I have a friend that would sell me a good condition sundown sa 15 in a big ported box (specs unknown, sorry). It would be for $150 for the sub and box. Another friend has a soundqubed hdc.1 15 inch that he would sell to me for $200 (it is brand new, he hasn't used it yet). I currently have a rockford fosgate 1200 watt prime amp. So my question is should I look at the sundown or would the soundqubed be better and I can just build a box for it?
viciouz_dogo
I would go with the SA unless you get a stronger amp for the HDC just make sure the box is tuned properly both will work great, but your new here like me so you wont get much help here from the vets unless your a vet is what im noticing if you look at when they do reply its usually to themselves only.Good luck
RainStryke
If you are talking about the new SoundQubed HDC3.1 15... That's a pretty sweet deal for $200. Otherwise, HDS3 series are cheaper than that and fit your power output a lot better. The SA-15 sounds like a decent deal... I mean, it saves you from having to make your own box if your happy with the one it comes with. I'd also check out something like this: http://www.ficaraudio.com/product/x-series-x15/

Both deals are pretty reasonable, I'd find out the specs on the SA-15 box or just plan on building a new box for it. One thing to consider is the HDC sub is going to have a much more peaky output than the SA-15 will all else being equal. Depending on what kind of music you listen to and how you like things to sound that may or may not being a good thing. 8ten8
Go with the sundown. Great price, box is already built. Maybe the box will sound good. For $150, worth a shot
