I am using kinetik batteries and 200 amp power. I have 2 fosgate 1 farads and one 40 farad fosgate carbon capacitor. Should I take out the either of the capacitors and just use the HC2400's?
A pros help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

If you already have them, use it. Don't see how it would hurt you. Storing an electrical charge is storing an electrical, no matter what form of storage it is. The more storage/supply you have the better.

i'd at least ditch the two 1 farad caps. how many runs of 1/0 do you have?
2-DC lvl 4 w/lvl 5 coils 15s
1-DC 30001 amp
(1)Kinetik HC2000 underhood and (1)XS Power D3100(REAR)
2 runs 1/0ga for power/1/0ga for negative
2-ALPINE 5X7 Component Sets ...... 4 separate 1 inch tweeters
1-RF Punch 450.4
1-Audiocontrol 3.1
260 amp DC power alternator

Smaller systems see a benefit with a cap if the amp uses a regulated power supply. Most newer big amps are using unregulated power supplies so it's a waste. If you have a secondary battery most of the time you won't see any difference adding a cap.

0 gauges every where, 2 hc2400's, 1 hc1400 and 1 stinger spv70.
I used the spv70 because of space limitations. In addition kinetik said I could definetly use it with there batteries.

I think I know why alot of guys bash on caps, but mostly for their situations they are right, but they forget about the average joe's system because they are used to building the 2,000 watts and up systems.

Not sure what the rules are, but I would assume that a person with an 800 watt output amp that wouldn't need a second battery would definitely get a better overall use from a cap. My system at the moment is only drawing about 400 watts and before I added the cap I did see alot of noticeable negative side effects whenever heavy bass draw was introduced to the electrical system. My headlights would dim (not terribly, but noticeable) and my volt meter would jump around (not to be confused with dropping down and staying) I think that's where you could draw the line there as if a cap would qualify in the situation. If you're volt meter drops WAY down and stays or takes a while to get back up after a bass note, then I think it's well said that a second battery/alt upgrade would benefit you. However like in my situation where the voltage just jumps down for a sec, a cap will help. After adding mine I have NO MORE headlight dim, but realize that before it wasn't DRASTIC dim. When it comes down to a 40 farad cap (had no idea they even made that) I think that's just a hype kind of buy. If you think that you will gain benefit from 40 farads, then you obviously NEED that extra alternator/batteries, a cap will not be your knight in shining armor.

Just my 2 cents on when caps should be used.

I just think alot of guys forget about the little guy systems. ;) However if you do see someone asking what sized cap they should use and they are bumping a 10,000 watt system then yes, do tell them they are looking for the wrong fix.
