My buddy has one in his PT, I think it's 16gb, and it receives songs from his home computer wirelessly!

I decided Ipod was better choice for me at the time and I passed on a brand new one still in the box for $150.

So, did Ipod kill it off, or lack of sales?

I'd say the ipod killed it off.I have a kenwood music keg, well 2 of them actually.I think because of the size of an ipod more people picked them. Also an ipod can hook up to any head unit that is compatable, the keg can only hook up to a kenwood and the omni can only hook up to a rockford.

Yeah, those kenwoods and the phat noise(???) ones that car dealerships are using are pretty expensive.

Good thing Ipods are up to 80gb now. But then again, I seem to use the same 20-30 songs over and over in my car.

I have an 80 gig, and everyday I come across songs I forgot or didn't know I had.

Those Kegs were pretty spendy back in the day weren't they?

I have a few kegs around here as well, paid about 200 but they had a 10 gig catridge.
They sold 80 gig carts for like 300, so i bought a 80 gig labtop drive and hacked it into it!
I have never had over 45 gig on it.

Just wanted to see if anyone here is actually using an old DMP1?

I have been a closet fan for about a year now since a buddy let me see the DMP1 in action in his PT, but I had decided that ipod was better for me.

I just ordered a DMP1 off of ebay, and will add a laptop drive and wifi to it. Ebay also had the wifi antenna.

...sometimes you just gotta love technology from a few years ago!
