But the highs amp is run from the same ground distribution block and it doesn't cut out. The little yellow light comes on and then goes off after a couple of seconds.

thats kinda weird. you may have a faulty amp. i know when my amp (t40001bd) dropped to a low voltage it went into protect but you said its staying around 13 volts. and i know that amp can handle 1 ohm

I really don't remember if I bought that amp from RF, or HDA, or new from a different dealer. I've had a few of those in and out of here...
Where did you mount it? - - Maybe the low notes are shaking something loose putting it into protect. If it didn't happen until you moved it, I'd move it back to where it was before.
Hope you figure it out, I'll do some digging into where that one came from.

Rated Power
continuous power
125W x 1 @ 4-Ohms
250W x 1 @ 2-Ohms
500W x 1 @ 1-Ohm
Ok well you have one DC sub and it's at 1 ohm correct?
You are saying at high volumes it's going into protect? What kind of head unit? How did you set your gains?

Sounds like you should be at about 32V with a 50hz tone measured on the outputs?
Your saying that when the bass hits and it goes into protect at 13V right, my amps can dip into the 11's when at HO.
