I think I messed up my 360.2. My day started out with a flat tire, so I tried to use a can of fix a flat to avoid removing my subs and trying to get to the spare and jack. It didn’t work. So I toss my sub box in the back seat and leave the sub wires coming from the US Amps AX-3200 just loose. I know, stupid mistake. I change the tire and on my way to get the flat fixed, with head unit off but the amps and 360 still on, I hear a loud pop from my right front then loud engine noise and static. I think to myself, the sub wires must have touched something, luckily not each other, and I figured out its one of the output channels on the 360. I can plug in all the RCA’s except for the front right without making any noise. Here is what I think happened, the sub wires touched the right front input channel RCA on the other side and fried that channel. Does this sound about right?

So I need suggestions to help me out of this mess. Is my only option to buy another one? If so, I will probably just run the rear channels as my front until I can afford a new one. How much do you think it would cost to repair something like this? Sound still comes through that channel but its very “noisy” and distorted. Its not the speakers, I can swap the RCA’s and the right front speakers sound fine as long as they are not connected to the right front channel of the 360. I know now that one minute to cover the wires in electrical tape is worth it. I knew it then, I was just in a rush.

where was the 360 mounted does it still have output just wondering cause on my old fosgate 200a4 the ground on the rcas broke in side (think some one stepped on rcas) (wifes car) and it started making allot of noise cracking and engine noise . i just opened it up re soldered the connection and it works fine. also left it out of the car and returned to stock :D i know its a proccesor not a amp but maybe the rca connection got hit or pulled on. :unknw: good luck

I e-mailed steve, but he is a busy man, so I will post what I sent to see if I get any advice.

I was wondering if you could help with an issue I am having with the 360. I was going to send it in to get repaired eventually because I thought I had done something wrong to cause the front output channel to have a lot of ground noise. I switched the RCA’s and have been running only the rear outputs going to the front inputs of the amp. So my rear speakers don’t work. I started getting the same noise off and on again, now on the rear channel outputs of the 360. I double checked grounds and wiring and everything was fine. Then I noticed my subs were getting some noise through them as well, even with the head unit off. Once again it came from the 360 outputs. I decided to open the 360 to look for a loose ground or something that may be getting loose.

Turns out a very small chip was floating around on the board. Which explains why these issues would happen when I made turns or came to sudden stops. I looked all over the board to see if it had come loose from somewhere on the board and nothing. Everything on the board is intact. I see no burns but the chip muse have made contact with the wrong things and caused the problems I am having. I don’t have warranty but I got it through a dealer but installed it myself. Seeing as this is something RF left in there would I be covered at all? I saved the chip. I guess I just need your advice on what to do. If you think RF will say tuff luck then I will just save for a new one but it sucks because of what I found. Thanks in advance for any help.

I called and they are taking care of me because of the circumstance, but I have to call back in 7 weeks to get anything done. They are not going to be making more for another 7 weeks. Works for me. As long as I can get it working or get a working one eventually.

by the way, thanks for the help.
