About 80 sq. ft. of B-Quiet sound deadener. Inner and outer skin of all four doors. Back wall and part of rear floor.

I really like this stuff. It is cheap and sticks great. I did the doors last winter and it is still stuck like glue and the doors sound like a vault when they close.

Rockford Fosgate 6.5" components in the front doors. The factory holes are 6x9 so I just made adaptor plates out of 1/2" and spray painted it black.

Posted Image

I took one of the tweeters and put it in the door panel up by the mirror. It really brought the soundstage up. I still haven't decided how to cover up the factory Infinity badge....

Now to cut a hole. Let me tell you, if you've never done this, it's a real moment of truth. As soon as I started cutting, I was thinking "what the fuck am I doing?!?!"

I used a hole saw to make my four corners first, then cut the rest with a reciprocating saw. Both layers at once.

For now I'm running two Rockford Fosgate T1 15"s.

Here's the box..

As you can see in this pic.....I screwed up when I cut the top.....if I had more of an ego, I wouldn't show this pic!
But hey, we've all been there, right?

Posted Image

Because my back seats don't fold down, the box isn't viewable at all but I thought I'd throw some paint on it anyway...

Now for the part that will stick through the hole into the cab. I've been calling it the mouth, for lack of a better term.

Then another hole through this thing...

It was looking pretty ratty so I carpeted it...

At this point I was ready to hear it so I made a quick little video...

I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

Then I decided to re-do the "mouth" to try and get more of an opening. I took the mdf off and made a new piece out of 1/4 hardboard with a couple layers of fiberglass for added stiffness....

You can see the difference here....about 75 sq. inches....

Carpet the box....

Here you can see the new opening and how much (little) room there is behind my seats. With the seats folded up, they actually touch the back wall....

Thank you.

It's actually the 3100. For as cheap as it is, I really like it. The only problem I've ever had with it is it tends to skip during really hard bass.

Now time for the new amp rack...

I'm partially countersinking the amps to keep them from touching the bottom of the seats and I've always just liked the clean look of it.

Holes cut and piece carpeted....

If the listening level is too loud, please inform the driver, so he can promptly pull over, and let you out.

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)
