sorry if i ask too many questions.i just want to do it right,

alright well,ill be:
replacing my stock alt
replacing stock battery
replacing power/ground wires with thicker ones
i hope to do the big 3 someday
and running only (2) 12'' subs off this amp dual 4 ohms RF punch DVC.
deck is alpine


what i need to know is how much power do i need?
is 1 battery upgrade under the hood good enough or do i need to get an additional battery ran to the trunk of my car?
also what is the thickest power/ground wire that i can get for this amp?

any info would be great.. from power/wires/box for subs..anything...thanks

add a batt to the rear for the RF T1K. will help alot. the + and - require 0 ga. bigger is better. run everthing 0 ga, except for the subs. i run 8 ga. to my subs.

caps are a waste. throws those things away. 1 kinetik 800 batt is stronger then 15 caps combined.

so 2 HC800 would be good enough if so ill buy 2 from bumassjeff

not saying to buy the 800. im saying thats how much better batts are vs. caps.

for the RF T1K, kinetik 1400 would be plenty. your stock front batt is fine. the rear batt does most of the powering to the amp. but i have a kinetik up front.

I would not upgrade the alternator because its not nessesary get a hc600 or hc800 kinetik battery, that is more then enough trust me, but if you got the money then why not get the HO Alt. Do the big 3 it would do the most good. 4 gauge is fine but i recommend o gauge.

Yups, my buddy is running 2 t1000s and the same subs i had with a stock alt and battery + a hc800 and 2 1.5 caps

well the thing is i might have messed up my alt by having a system with my stock battery n a lil ass cap..because the other day arround 2am i went to the store and the later that day my battery was dead n i had to get a jump. and my amp for my subs wasnt even connected just the amp to my highs,
i also blew out an amp not knowing i needed more power.
and i dont think bumassjeff still has those batteries available anymore =/
he had 2 hc800 for 150 shipped


so idk if my alt is bad or not how would i check it?

oh i understood im just wondering on what would be a good battery at a good price for the system im trying to set up...
but the batteries arnt for sale anymore =(

did you check the bat it might just be a bad cell, i think you might some wiring issues if you messed up your alternator and amp. redo your wiring you might have a short or something among those lines

EDIT: guess it would help to read the title of the thread huh?

Big 3 and and another batt. if you want, and you should be good to go. I know it isn't the best way to do things, but I know several people running that amp or an equivalent and don't have problems with their alternator. Though, they are all also doing this in trucks with heavier duty alternators, so... :/

well i think i blew out the amp by not having enough power or! by connecting 3 RF 12''s to it at 2.67 ohm loads bridged...i didnt connect it some one else did.
amp was an old PPI 2600.2 400-500 RMS trying to push 3 RF 12''s DVC punch power 1000rms/2000watts i believe and an rf punch hx2 500 RMS 12''

my battery is a duralast gold 75

and idk if it was the wiring but i am going to replace it either way because its not thick enough

when i look at my cap it says that my battery is between 12.8 to 13.4
