what it says...
i have the amplifier mounted in my civic right now with 4 gauge but it is wired at 4ohms so not using all the power from it.
its fine in that car hooked up at 4ohms, but i want to pull it out of my civic and swap it into the truck wired to my 2 type R12s wired at 1ohm so its gonna be puting out full power again benched 1,640watts, but i only have 4gauge wire ran thru the truck right now. so do i really have to run 0gauge or can i get away with rocken the 4gauge for about a month or so until i upgrade to 1/0gauge?
im just getting really tired of my weak @ss jbl bp600.1 amp since i have it wired down to 1ohm because on certain tracks it kicks out.....
i plan on slaping that turd in my civic sine i drive my truck alot more than the civic. at least until gas prices go back up.LOL

it sounds like you already made up your mind...its great that you're upgrading soon. If u must use 4 gauge, set the gain conservatively and be aware that the harder u bump the hotter your amp is gonna get....just upgrade soon.

well i know my alternator needs to be upgraded! weak @ss 100amp alt and it already dips hard with the tiny 600watts right now.

but i do have dual batteries under the hood. 2 optima yellow top d34/78

well they are not wired up in that picture but i have them hooked together but with only 4gauge right now also.
i need some new 1/0gauge. i have the old 1/0wires from my old civic but its not pretty so id like to get all new wire just for the hell of it.
but i just bought some mufflers for my truck for funds are low since i mod check to check.... hopefully the bullets sound good on my truck.

truck needs a good wash inside and out but its to cold outside to do it.

no you dont need another batt to run 1600rms...i ran a T1k that was doin 1700rms on stock electrical for quit awhile with no probs...idk y everyone seems to think when you get up by 12-1500rms you need another batt...1500rms is not that much....

but youll be aight w 4ga till you can get the 0ga...

dito. a second battery isnt needed.
on my old truck i had the single yellow top d34/78 with my old orion 2500watt amplifier... BUT i did have a kick @ss high power alternator that kept it at a solid 14.4v all day long!!!!

im going to buy another high power alternator within the month as well. only PITA thing will be finding the right size belt for the motor after i upgrade just like it was last time.
my truck has different size belts for different alternators stock and with the overdrive pulley its gonna be even trickier.... more less just trial and error outside autozone.LOL

It will be fine until you get 1/0- and no you won't need two batteries or that amp. RF makes really good 1/0 wire I'd highly recommend buying their wire real thick stuff.

technically you could run any wire to it. however unless you run a wire that is sufficiant to the amp you will not get full potential out of it.

well it will run more efficent with an extra one tho, now with a high output alt i dont think ued need one but with stock alt its better to be safe than sorry, imo, do you have the big three done?

ya the stock alternator definatly needs upgraded i know that!!! but i should be able to keep it at 12volts at least until i get the alternator upgraded to a high power unit!

i just sold my old cat converter from my civic just a few mins ago so ill be stoping by my local audio guy and see if he can hook me up with some 1/0gauge wire or not...
so i might actualy get enough wire to rerun the power before i swap amps out. i hope hes got some and can hook me up...
i also bought 2 new RF circuit breakers, he had to order a 3rd for me which will hopefully come in soon also. i got some weak @ss circuit breakers but they suck and both of them are already broken.... weak @ss trip arms. i sure hope the RF breakers really are quality. im sure they are.LOL definatly built alot better all the way around.

but i do have dual yellow tops under the hood with 4gauge for now.
