im having a hard time deciding what i want to buy and im wondering what you guys(and gals) think. 15" rockford P1 or 12" Alpine Type-R. they will be used n' abused daily so i want something that will please me. in the next couple months i will be selling a car to get 6 12" Type-R's in a 9 cube box(my first "big" build) so this choice is only temp.

Tell me whatcha' think.

Not even comparable -the p1 is RF's enry level sub and type-r is alpine's middle of the line-up sub? How about P3's -that would be way better than type-r's.

i would say the P3 or T1 is more comparible to the Type R....i would say T1 hands down but P3 and Type R very close

theres no such thing as too expensive when it comes to upgrades like that, because imo if you are gonna spend to upgrade then do it correctly rather then be a cheap ass ricer

the p3 and type r are very comparable.. imo the p3 wins SQ wise and seems to be much more accurate than the type r

Everyone realizes that, what we are trying to tell is that they aren't even in the same ball park. The type-R would be louder but it's an unfair comparison. You have to go down rockfords line and pick one that's more comparable, like the p3 or t1. Which I would choose over a type-R any day.

The comparable sub to Rockford's P1 would be Alpine's Type E sub. The P1 and the Type R are two drastically different subs. If your only choice of RF subs is the P1 vs Alpine's Type R, the Type R wins hands down. But if you want a comparable RF sub to the Type R, it would either be the P3 or the T1.. The T1 is the better sub and obviously more expensive, while the P3 and the Type R are comparable, my opinion is the P3 wold win.

get the type R for now. you will be happy. sell the car later and then you only have to buy 5 instead of 6. use that money to buy an amp or something
