New Puch Amps Vs Older Punch Amps? which one is better?

so i was wondering if the newer punch amps are any better/worse than the older ones.

a friend of mine is looking for a punch 400 and i was thinking about selling him mine and buying one of the new ones.

thoughts?

a buddy of mine has the punch P1000-1bd.

that thing is basically a T1000

it does rated power and more.

in my opinion the new punch's are better then the old ones.

I think it depends on which your punch your talking about. The older waffle iron punches where good until they made those cheap S ones. Like 400s 700s etc...

The new Punch amp has a couple of great features the old one doesn't.

1. Better thermal design
2. DTM (dynamic thermal managment)
3. On board Punch EQ

These all add up to a better preforming product in a smaller heat sink.

thanks man, do the new ones work with the bass knobs from the previous gen. amps or would i need to buy a new bass knob?

You need a new knob. It is a completly new design on the circuit.
