well today i was driving around for 3-4hours beating only about 50-75% volume. been hooked up in my civic for at least a year and in my other civic for another year with no problems.
well today after driving around for awhile i got something to eat and went out again driving to my local pullapart and on the way the amp went out... just stopped working... it blew the main fuse only 80amp, so i checked out the amplifier wire to check for a short or loose wire but it all checked out fine. hooked up my light tester to charge the amplifier before putting in a new fuse. goes in just fine, then go inside the car and start it up to listen to the bass again and instantly pop the fuse blew again only 60amp since thats all i had right now.
and ive never had a fuse blow before on this amplifier! and even the fuse on the amplifier itself is original and still not blown.
so since i had used all of my agu fuses i hooked up a new 200amp circuit breaker that i bought for my truck hooked it all up everything just fine, then i turn the car on and it makes this god awful whining. so i turned it off unplugged the rca wires and it still gave the awful whining noise and then smoke started coming off the amplifier so i jumped as fast as i could to turn off the ignition and kill the power on the circuit breaker.

luckily it didnt damage my subwoofer since its still a good 4ohms.

IT IS A T10001BD
ive had it since about June 6, 2007 so im positive no warranty since i bought it off ebay.

i have really liked this amplifier ever since i had it!
so ill either be buying another or send this one out for repair if the repair cost will be cheaper than a new one.

and i was about ready to put the amplifier in my truck to. :(
its been hooked up to a alpine type R 15 dual2 ohms wired at 4ohms so was only pullen about 600-700watts for the sub. well under what it can do.

this just really REALLY SUCKS!!!!!!! i havent had a good amplifier blow in about 10years now. just when im very short on cash this happens :( at least by trucks amplifier is still good so i have bass still. so at least one vehicle i got still has bass.

no was no short on my wires.... i checked all the wires besides the subwoofer wires inside the box. but ohm load at 4ohms tells me it wasnt a problem. and i know there was no stray wires on any of the connections!
it just went poop.

O DAM....... i believe i found the problem... the freaken screen must have fell off the cover and shorted across the fan screw, the rca ground, and some white square thingie. it practicaly welded to the white square box and fan screw!
im really hoping it didnt damage anything since i cut it off quick!!!!!!!

I CANNT BELIEVE THAT SCREEN WOULD JUST FALL OUT LIKE THAT!!!!!!
i took a video of me trying to pull that screen off. it welded itself on there very strong. i have yet to put it back together and test it out. im really hoping it still works!!!!!!!!

The set up your talking about would sound great in my Tahoe. Trade you my dog for it. He has one eye but that only makes for bad depth perception so hey so what if he is running into shit, look at it this way he is easy to sneak up ninja style on. (right side only)

why not test it to make sure it even works before you go and try to repair the screen?

nope... :censored: shes dead :( something must have fried the rca inputs because all she does is whine and started smoking again so i cut it off as soon as i seen the smoke... no sense making it any worse :(

i still cannt believe this crap! one tiny piece of metal screen just falling off and shorting the amplifier out :censored:
this problem should be covered under repair since its not user error!!! but knowing my luck i doubt they will help me out and make me pay to have it repaired.

really sucks it had a nice birth sheet of 1,640watts at 1ohm for a 1K watt rated amplifier.

as soon as i read your first post i thought "something fell in the screen or the screen got pushed in"

contact rockford and see if they can do anything for you, that amp is def worth repairing.

rf charges a flat rate, $170ish... but its usually fixed in 2 weeks

ill never bash him, but chris @db.r had my friends t1000bd for 6 MONTHS... and then sent it to someone else to fix

so let fosgate handle it

i think rockford was 175 plus you pay shipping both ways last time I checked

it will come back as good as new though, and you know you can trust them.

theres no such thing as too expensive when it comes to upgrades like that, because imo if you are gonna spend to upgrade then do it correctly rather then be a cheap ass ricer

i do not understand why fosgate uses those damn little spacers/risers... so difficult to fix and take the board out

i guess thats why its best to send it to RF.... w00t for a good product 99% of the time tho

ya thats true but its a better technology and works very well when building them in the USA at rf corp where they can easily control whats going on. Same reason DD can get away with the straight wire instead of a terminal. Think someone like visonik can get away with that shit in china?

the t-clads do suck but after buying a few pallets worth of fosgate amps its a breeze
