im pretty sure they can be. they both have the bdsync inputs if i remember correctly

aint that the same amp just one has end pieces? they look alike, i dont mean exactly the same amp just built some sort alike? just ones newer than the other?

the darker 1 came out first but yea im pretty sure they are the same amp.. i just wasnt sure of the top 1 has the bd sync option

ya id look up the manuals on the rf site to be sure... but im pretty sure the only diffrence is the led on the 1001

Yes they are strappable.
I deal with the 2003 1501BDs and called them about this question incase I had problems getting as many 2003 1501BDs that I wanted and they said there shouldn't be any issues if I needed to use a 2001 BD1500.1 or a 2002 15001BD.
You should be good to go.

A cap is only good if you have 0 voltage loss and want to clean up the power at the peaks of the ripples..
