Don't know if I did or not. My speaker just sounds different. Almost like my box blew apart or something like that..Just doesn't have that punch that it had the other day..If I hooked a volt meter up to each coil and checked for conductivity would that work?? Or how would I go about checking it with a Volt meter?? Or would just hooking up each coil to the amp and seeing if it plays..Duh...Any way can I do it with a volt meter..?? I'm also going to check my box, but this is a hell of an ordeal, casue in order to get the sub out I have to take the box out. And taking the box out involves removing my backseat..and pulling it out from the inside.....Oh this sucks..

check the ohm load with the meter, smell it, push on the cone and see if you hear a "crunching" noise. all those work

Nick will bang just about anything.....LMAO....pun intended

i was like DAMN, Chode is hardcore! he makes james look like a friendly person LOL!

Using your dmm is the right way to do it but the ways that Chode suggested work also.

I don't think I have dropped a coil..I think either my box or my car blew apart..I will check everything when it is light and I have some time..I hear way to many rattles now..That is why I think something has let lose..Cause every since I installed the sub everything felt real tight and the pressure was real high inside the cab. Now it just doesn't have the pressure it has..I might be losing my mind but That is what it feels like..

That's probably the sub's suspension loosening up.
A couple links to some box builds:

Mini-Bump, Hummer H2, Ford F-150

My own car builds (current setup --- under construction):

If you blew a coil, you would already smell it even if your box is sealed. I'm thinkin' a loose tinsel or connection of some sort my be the root that your problem consists of.

Yea I will check it all. And no I haven't heard a louder system..Mine is still loud it just sounds a little different..Might be the suspension freeing up...I don't know..I will see..In the Am..I really think my car is not gonna make it through this one. I went to the gas station a couple of minutes ago and saw that my Plastic that surrounds the vents above my radio have cracked all the way through and are broke now..My car is taking a beating..

You were probably very impressed when first upgrading so you were blown away with the bass. Now you are begining to get used to the amount of bass and it isnt as impressive as it once was. Thats all.

Voltage drop. i.e. Cold days/mornings/overheated amps in summer/ or a loose connection. Those will all do it. And of course, the underpants gnomes that steal ur bass notes.

You guys are freakin crazy..Well I am glad someone else has experienced this. While were at it my freakin ears have been killin me. My other speakers didn't make my ears hurt..This one does..Man my ears for the last week just feel sore down inside of them..Like I need some ear plugs..If I stay out of my car and don't crank it they don't hurt. If I crank on it..Man they hurt...Lsn2meboom916..I did notice this yesterday. When I was accelerating i turned my music up at the same time and my car hesitated so bad..I mean I could acctually feel the spark being robbed right out of it..See I have an aftermarket MSD ignition system and I think that My stock stuff isn't cutting it...At work I am going to check my voltage..I check it at the amp correct!

also, i broke a tinsel lead once and it made the sub not as loud too, and eventually the other one went out.

Well I made a visual inspection of the box and everything is still together on it..Notthing cracked or anything. The speaker goes up and down with zero cracking rubbing sounds nothing like that ...I hooked my volt meter up to my wires going into my amp and it read 1.1 ohms so it seems to still be at 1 ohms so that means that the wires are still connected. I don't know..A cold front did come through so maybe that had something to do with it..As far as my voltage goes..Can some one send me some money to get an alternator and another Battery?? I know there are some rich people out there that need a tax write off or something..Ha Ha..Send money to [email protected]..Need about $500 dollars..Just kiddin yall...
