  1. I'm lagging. Wife's birthday, our anniversary, then kids track meets have taken up the last few weekends. Not to mention its the last home game of the season and last home game ever here at ARCO in Sacramento. I still need to remeasure one last time because I might need to widen the box another inch or two on each side to have proper volume.
  2. I should add that I have been cutting pieces smaller today and with a sharp blade you can score the foil backing then bend it in half. Take the blade and slide it down the crease for a near perfect cut. So far so good but it really makes me think about using this for my project '73 240z
  3. While I understand what your saying it's all I could think of doing. I'm sure a knock test means something. But I'm no expert. What I can tell you is that I misapplied one piece. I tried removing it without great luck. Thought I would damage it. I left it, and just made cuts around my misapplication. Even the parts I cut out were stuck nicely. I should say that I cleaned every surface with denatured alcohol prior to applying.
  4. Working on my buddies 08 f-450 work truck and applying some Damplifier. Trying to get enough coverage but not going overboard. I did a before and after tapping video and let me tell you that I am sold. I've personally never used any sound deadening so I have nothing to compare it to for other brands. But I don't think I'll ever care about other brands because this stuff was easy to use. Before video After video Hopefully the videos worked. Put them up from my phone. Thanks second skin.
  5. I realized I should have just asked here. How much port volume will I need for 4 x Sundown x-6..5sw tuned to 32hz and also tuned to 36hz (trying to see which will fit) if my net volume of the subwoofers are 1.2 cubic feet. The port I current have is 3.5 x 5 x 23.5 for 36hz and the said net volume of 1.28 cubic feet. Just asking for my work to be double checked because I am so dang new to all this. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzExFfp4AGn4bmtUWVVwNXpnMGc/view https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzExFfp4AGn4b1RUTUdtOUxzN0E/view Thank you for all your help and sorry for posting this question slightly different in other areas.
  6. I always tell myself I am going to snap pics. MY ADD or OCD or whatever else is three letters kicks in and I just go. You should see what happens when I start working on a computer build.
  7. Keep me updated on your process. I wouldn't mind some during pics of the installation.
  8. I plan to do the doors and roof with this first. I heard the roof is hands down the biggest culprit for bad sound. I could be wrong, but I could have sworn that was gospel.
  9. I have two boxes in my garage (40 ft) ready to go in on Saturday. Thanks Second Skin.
  10. I sent the info to my buddy with the f-450. He wanted to know if it's only a few more dollars (sheets) to do a more complete application of the sound deadening material if it would make sense. Once we tear the truck apart he said the $50 isn't a big deal.
  11. Thanks. I have an F-150 and his truck makes mine look tiny (story of my life). same here man. I drive an 06 SuperCrew F150 as a daily, and I've been working out of a 2012 F-550 with a 19.5ft rollback. Superduty cab is just huge Have any links to your truck if you have done a build in it? Always looking for ideas on the minimal spacing we have in these trucks.
  12. Thanks. I have an F-150 and his truck makes mine look tiny (story of my life).
  13. Hey second skin. Helping a buddy sound deaden his monster work truck. 2008 f-450 Super crew (4 full size doors). Sounds like he wants to do the full interior, minus firewall. Roof, doors, back wall. Do you have a guestimate on how much he will need, and which? Thank you.
  14. It looks like with the seat lift I will have approximately 3.05 ft3 of gross volume. Using the handy guesstimate from CAF of gross volume x .55 I would have a net volume of 1.68 cf3. Would 1.68 be enough to run 2 x SA-8? The sub is listed at 0.5-0.75 ft^3 @ 35hz.
