  1. I need less than 1000 watts for my system and I'm shopping for dependability, more than huge amperage. So it looks like all those alternators are over kill. I idle about 800 rpm, but how that translates to belt speed is directly related crank shaft pulley diameter. The pulley diameter on my existing alternator is 2 9/16" with the belt on it. A little over 2 1/2" and I don't want to change diameter because my belt tension would change if I didn't change the belt out for a shorter one going to a smaller pulley. I cruise at 70 mph at 2000 rpm. Red line is 3000 rpm

  5. How do I determine what size alt I need when looking at the combined watts of my amplifiers and what not? Thanks!
