Although I don't have much to add, I am curious as to what your resting voltage is when sitting overnight at low temperature with the truck off? As long as the batteries are charged, they shouldn't freeze. But with the high initial voltage, it makes me think that the amperage is near zero until the electrolyte "gets going". Almost like the higher voltage is the alternators unloaded voltage. As long as the battery cases don't start to bulge from excessive electrolyte outlasting, then I would say you are ok. Block heater on a gasoline motor? Yeah that's cold. I am not sure at what point a battery heater is needed.

That has to be one heck of a voice coil!! The worst thing that happened was that it would trip the breaker.lol You should put it in a box and try it again to make some noise.Lol

Its a good thing cars don't have 6 volt batteries anymore. Someone might get confused.

You should call the dealership and see if your truck has a 14v battery.

He has to go out and buy all the amps that he tests. Maybe you could send yours to him.

I have never used one of these but there should be a way to reduce the signal going into the meter. It might be possible to wire a 10k potentiometer in series to act as a coarse adjustment to get it in range and then adjust the meter as normal.

It would work better if you can place it close to the amps.

Maybe they could do a gold plus or a platinum. Or an add on option. The way it is set up now, they just paid a boat load to update the site to what it is today. Maybe when they do the next update in ten years we will have the option. Or maybe the internet will be outdated by then and nobody will using it anymore. Lol
