  1. Meh...and its the subs that need to handle the amp. Clipped signal and low voltage are major factors to failed equipment, especially sub-par equipment so in your case get as many volts as you can and a big 3 would help with that, would need to for future upgrades anyway.
  2. Got 2 sets might sell you one if you still are looking.
  3. I found out what active is and I am not quite going to go at that level. I'm just gonna use the crossover. Thanks. Good info. I didn't see any "make sure you don't this" posts so regardless of which direction I go its gonna sound a shit ton better than the sony's in front and factory in the back.
  4. Oops double post....what about tweeter placement if there are going to be 2 on each side?
  5. was hoping to keep it simple, but to get the best is never easy. If 2 sets in front....run those off the 4 ch amp and run the rear coax off the HU? would it be bad to just put the Sonya's that are in the front right now in the back then?
  6. I'm looking for good sounding music. Hereing every note with good balance not knowing where the sound is coming from. Don't think I will go with 8's....just keep the 6.5's. Mainly wondering if putting both sets in front will be like night and day rather than 1 in front and 1 in rear. Or if put on the rta, eq properly and mix correctly with fader, the end effect will be about the same either way. Don't have a separare eq as of now...just the adjustable 7 band on the HU which I think is pretty decent. Don't roll your eyes....but what is running active?
  7. I believe thee was a bose option but this one does not have it so the tweet locations will be cut and flush mount.
  8. Getting 2 sets of hertz hi energy 6 1/2 comps. Got a 2003 bravada. Wondering what the best setup for them is. Put one set in front and one in back. Tweeters in a pillar and top of rear doors. Or should I put both sets in the front and just get some 2 ways for the back.
  9. X2 on dvdfab...no watermarks...maybe you got a trial version
  10. Thanks for for the feedback....looking at RF T1652-S for $177.
  11. I like matching too but am just going with what works with a given budget with what i want to do. so ultimately i will have hifonics zxr 1000.4 and brz2400.1. MTX subs and box is staying. Looking to spend around 300 ...200 max for comp set and then 125ish for rear speakers. MTX sounds good but i have always had mtx so i am opening up my options if there is just as good or better for the same price. Polk db6501 and Kappa 60.9cs looked nice too. What is a good sensitivity rating number to look?
  12. Have a 2003 Bravada. I have sony 6 1/2's in the front right now. I am getting components and put the tweets in the A pillar. 4 channel amp is 125W RMS. Should I be looking for speakers with matching RMS ratings or will 80 - 90W RMS speakers be just as good (as long as the amp is set correctly of course) Is there a significant performance difference? I'm looking at Alpine SPR-60C 110W RMS MTX TX6 90W Infinity Reference 6030cs 90W Other suggestions are welcome What should I replace the rear door speakers with? Full range, mid bass driver, etc?
  13. did you also include a battery isolator? maybe one is not needed.
