  1. Too add onto that.... The thing is Multi-player capability controls the gaming realm today. As internet just gets bigger, more and more games are leaning towards partial or full online gameplay. So, like I said, GW3 is going to have a great Solo and Co-OP campaign, but the multi-player is what the average consumer looks at. This is the reason the RPG genre has fallen off of the map (Excluding handhelds).
  2. Gears was always an EPIC (Pun?) campaign. But, the multi-player never really held up. As far as the MW and BF series, the reason they keep a lot of their multi-player setups the same, is because they have been proven to be effective and accepted for the professional gaming realm. Why take the risk of changing it, and making something that no one wants to play? Just update your graphics engines, make your guns shinier, and let the "Dogs Out" (Another Pun?).... I was never a BF2 fan, but with the new engine being used in BF3, it looks like gameplay is speeding up a bit. I certainly think I am leaning towards it. Now, GW3 is going to be a great game, and have a good fan-base. But really... how many effective multi-player games have been 2nd person (over the shoulder) view? I think I can almost safely say ZERO without doing research. So, this gives GW3 a niche that helps them keep some fans, but it also pushes a lot of fanbase away.
  3. Ray treats SMD products like a Harry Potter premier... Waiting in line for a week just to get a sneak peek. Great idea, great looking product. I think the one the best things about these products, they not only work, they are pretty simple to use. So, even if a hardcore enthusiast without a shop could justify the cost of it, he could get one and use it as well. I have just started studying Electrical Engineering and I have previous schooling in Software Development, and can say, just thinking about what it would take to design things like this... Way beyond my mental capacity.
  4. I have to agree but also if its soldered. i have a question is solder bad for connections bc its not as conductive as copper right? Solder is actually helpful, in the fact that it inhibits corrosion, and it does increase surface area. If you put a "generous" amount of solder on a connection, it will get between the strands of your wire, thus actually helping reduce resistance at the connector because you will have more of a pure, solid connection. And, most solder is highly conductive.
  5. I assume you could, but again, solid 1/0 practically requires a pipe bender to get it around corners. It just isn't practical to run it long distances through the interior of a car. I was trying out a spool of it in Home Depot one day as I was pretty curious about the same thing. Home Depot had it for just over $1/ft, so I was playing with on the spool. I couldn't even get it do a 90 degree bend with my hands. There was no way I was going to take the time to try and really run it through a firewall and under some carpet. could you run it in combo with the reg 0ga we use for the bends u need? edit: or would that defeat the purpose? That would start to defeat the purpose. Another thing to be looked at is that with every connection you make (soldered or not) you pick up a small amount of resistance. So, with the number of cuts and joints you would need to make you may end up building up more resistance than it would be worth.
  6. This one I agree with, if the tax bracket was a flat-rate across the board, no one could complain. Because you already understand the more you make the more you put in. The biggest problem I have noticed from the financial debates and shows I have seen; the rich have the finances to hire people (Accountants, Lawyers, Off-share banks, etc..) to move money around, and find huge tax loop holes. Raising it ins't going to help... They will just loop around that too. What we really ought to be doing is forcing American based companies (I.E. - Apple) who outsource all of their manufacturing and labor to other countries to pay extra taxes. Because if all those companies were still based in America, we wouldn't have the unemployment we do today. I understand it is all about business, and the companies go where the cheap labor is, but it hurts. Also, INFLATION SUCKS! I haven't understood why a lot of people don't understand that raising minimum wage hurts the entire economy. By giving "Kenny Mclaughin" (This name is made up), an high-school sophomore, $8.00/hr to work part time at McDonald's you are hurting me. Does he deserve to make just shy of what an introductory Electronics Repairman does (10/hr)? NO... He flips burgers, and an E-repair solders microcircuits to a board. It is just isn't equal. And raising wages, raises prices. Unions don't understand it either... I need to get off of this soap box, before I get myself in a hole way to deep....

  8. Welcome to the club. Although the wife appreciated it, my checks have look like garbage since they cut out my 10+ hours/wk....
  9. People don't generally consider solid copper rod as a "wire", so in terms of "wire" strand count only affects flexibility. As one had mentioned before, Surface area and Resistance matters most. In a solid copper rod, you will get less resistance, but you can't run it entirely through a car. it just isn't practical. Personally, less wire strand is better for resistance purposes, but don't excuse bad quality for low strand count. Some manufacturers way OVER RATE their wire size buy having thicker jackets. The strand count may be high, but the actual wire thickness would be overall low. If I could do it, I would run 1/0 solid through my car, but no car audio manufacturers make it, and the wire you can purchase in that size is designed for home/commercial/industrial electrical use, and doesn't have a jacket designed to sustain the harsh external environments an engine bay and undercarriage see on a daily basis.
  10. Always great to hear it from someone who has gotten to experience the upgrades as they have come along. I know you have probably heard this 1,000,000+21e times, but have been an inspiration to so many of people to chase the dream of "GOING BIG" when it comes to car audio.
  11. E-dates don't usually last. I met a few girls online. After a few nights of dinner and fun; that is all it ever became. As you get older, the flashbacks never go away. I had dated a "few" women in my life, and you always think about the great times every now and again. The problem is the brain usually forgets all of the bad crap you had to put up with in between those few good times. Like my wife now, I can't remember 90% of the things we have ever argued about, but I do know that 90% of the marriage is great. Honestly, people don't change unless they are absolutely forced to, and then even when that force goes away, they usually go back to the way they were. So, chances are, if you got in a lot of fights before, you will again...
  12. That battery was someone else. Maybe Monkievlog should look into getting his battery replaced then...
  13. Good look Ray, and great point. I did make that mistake. I let a battery run itself to death and literally exploded while I was going down the road one day. Since the vehicle was my daily driver, I hadn't even opened the hood in many months. It had one of the caps come loose and was leaking out the top. Basically, dried up and one of the cells went Kaboom!... Exploded right out the side of it. Luckily, didn't damage anything else in the car. Just the leaking acid took some engine bay paint with it. Regardless of the alternator choice, some form of replacement should be gotten.
