Any experience with the SKAR MA-8s??
1sickpuppy replied to TeamHirshAudio's topic in SKAR AUDIO - (READ ONLY ARCHIVE)
I have a pair of VVX-8's in a 1.6ish cuf. Ported box tuned to 32hz. I like the sound quality of the sub( accurate/tight bass) and the ability to get low. I have them powered off a Hifonics BXI1610. It's a 1600 rms watt amp but realistically it's probably pushing 1200-1400rms. I have never really pushed them because running close to double the rated rms to them with my "bass knob" a quarter way up is enough for me. Hope this tiny bit of info helps. Kinda late but whatever. -
Need an enclosure desgin.

Thanks guys. Skar calls for .75-1 cft per driver. I want it tuned to 34hz or so. I appreciate the input. -
I bought a pair of VVX8's and they are sitting on my dining room table. I would like them in the trunk of my car. Can some one please point me in the right direction as far as what net box volume I should have. How much port area I should have for optimum output for music? I don't want a one note wonder box. I'm going to give my subs 1100 watts so power is not an issue. Thanks for the input.

any bass heads in socal?
1sickpuppy replied to dohckiller808's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
what's up all? I've been lurking on this post for a while, but have yet to chime in. Anyway I'm in Lancaster. The K1 in Ontario is closest to me 1.5 hrs away. K1 in Torrance is 2.5-3 hrs. I'm in no way loud or care to be but I am down to listen to some loud cars. If a date can be set I'm willing to drive. I don't have any DC gear will I be ridiculed and stoned to death if I show up? My little set up is sitting in boxes on my dining room table waiting to get installed all I need is time. hahaha -
Big 3 on 06'-07' Ford Focus.
1sickpuppy replied to 1sickpuppy's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Carshateme I know what you mean. But being that the truck and Focus are vehicles one and two of three and are paid off they are my first choice in project vehicles. Both my '97 Sonoma and '06 Focus are mechanically excellent and have zero problems at the moment. The new car won't be seeing anything happen to it for a while. I just wanted to see if it really is a pain in the ass to get to the alt of a Focus as it looks? Thanks for responding. This is the first post where I've only had one person respond, so I thank you again, Carshateme. -
I'm currently changing my system over to my Fuckus. Due to my truck being old and shit and my wife getting on me for putting shit into a shit can. LOL. Anyway my question is how do I get to the positive output on the alternator of a '06-'07 Ford Focus? I popped the hood and took a look. I found the alt. But I'm assuming the connections are in the rear near the firewall? Has anyone done the big three on a Focus? Does anyone have any vehicle specific tips? Thanks.

best place to buy 0 gauge online ?
1sickpuppy replied to bdog's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Cadence ofc @ audiosavings.com great deal on 25 ft. for $40-45 and free shipping. -
Man just go to a Real university, like you said your not paying anything, get into electrical engineering and take electives in fabrication and you'll learn way more than in a trade school. Plus when your done you'll have a degree not a certificate. Also there are a bunch of beautiful women on college campuses!

Thanks for the info guys I'll give Audio Innovations a call. I have no problem doing my own installs. I just don't have the tools to cut very large gauge wire and solder the terminals in. And yes this was a poor attempt to see if I'm not going to get ripped off or not. Thanks again for the input guys.
