  1. You cant have two rectifiers off one alt with different voltages. You can connect the second rectifier but the voltage will be the same for both.
  2. If it were me I would run dual or triple alts. You will have enough power even at idle to run that amp full tili without all the extra batteries. All you would need is one very small one in the back.
  3. Depends on the case style. If its a small case then output at idle will be very low. If its a large case and it has low output at idle than its not a very good design. I would hope it does more than that at idle. It's a 250a alt. Never got the idle output though. But yeah I'm still gonna charge and check the battery.
  4. Each batt will pull between 10 and 50 amps of charging current depending on good they are and if they are fully charged or not. If your alt makes lets say 75 amps at idle and you have 4 batteries... your voltage may be in the 12's with the car running at idle. You may or may not have a problem with the batteries.. do like you said and charge them all and have them load tested to make sure. If all else fails get an alt that has better output at idle.
  5. Maybe this will give you some ideas. Im sure there is someone locally that can make some brackets. Its pretty simple. You will need to make the alts run off serpentine unless you already have that done. I have some pics of duals and triple on that engine... need to find them tho. http://www.facebook....96550170&type=3
  6. No. thats not enough current to get them charged. I would do between 5-10 amps per battery..overnite
  7. What could cause the rectifier to go out? Especially this fast, it's only been about a year and the car gets used like 1 a month if that. I already tried having the batts on a charger over night, I'll try it again though. Usually bad or weak batteries... or very poor connections. Check your battery resting voltage after you charge them overnite. Check them every 3 hours or so and see how they hold the charge.
  8. Sounds like what he said... when you put it in drive and sit there your rpms are too low for the alt to turn on... If it just started doing this but didnt before... One of two things.. Either your rectifier is going out or you have some batteries pulling more current than they used to before. Like they are going bad or need to be charged overnite.
  9. We swapped phone service over to comcast. Is it still doing that?
  10. Just give me a call and Ill see what we can come up with. Sounds like you have a good meter. 615-594-8965
  11. I want to get better resting voltage... I got two more alts to put on, just need to get a bracket for them. I would like less drop too You will probably need different regulators for better initial voltage and definitely need to add the alts for better voltage drop. Sounds like you may have a lower voltage regulator in there now. Or your meter isnt reading right.
  12. are you trying to get a higher resting voltage or just less of a drop? Im assuming your amp is 7500 watts... Your not gonna get much bettter voltge drop with one alternator and that much current draw. You can start off with higher voltage but it will fall to just about the same thing.
  13. Where are you checking voltage and at what rpm? I would check at the alternator and at 1500 rpm for starters
