Battery keeps going dead.
Nipsy06 replied to Nipsy06's topic in XS Power Batteries / Chargers! (and other stuff too)
Well the crazy thing is I just replaced the Alternator a few months ago.(Back in February) I mean could the Alternator get drained from the subs? Yes It has died a few times. The first time I was sitting in traffic and it turned off on me. The second time was at a drive thru. The last time I had my subs on jammin on my way to work and it died on me while I was driving. Luckily I was turning into my job parking lot out of the road and was able to coast into a parking space. While I was driving the car jolted and the lights dimmed really bad. It happend like 3 times thats when it shut off and I coasted into the parking lot. Anyways, You guys are always really helpful here and I really appreciate it Thanks So Much! P.S. It hasnt happend in a few wees and I do quite a bit of driving. I just simply leave my radio off so that no additional power is going to the battery from the subs and I havent noticed any of those issues. Thats why I assumed it would be the battery. (But Im not a mechanic) -
I have a 2000 Buick lesabre with 2 12" Soundqubed subs wired to 1ohm on a Soundqubed 1200watt mono block amp. Basically my car starts to sputter and turns off while im driving if I have my subs on so now I just ride with my radio completely off. I jumped to the conclusion that I would probably need a new battery and I went by autozone to have it tested and sure enough the battery was bad. I have a Exide 78s Car battery the specs on the battery is: Exide NASCAR Select Auto/Truck/SUV Battery takes the power of the racetrack and gives it to you. 11-9/16 in. x 7-7/16 in. x 7-9/16 in. 44 lb. Terminal Voltage: 12V Cold Cranking Amps: 750 Cranking Amps: 900 Battery Type: Lead Acid Terminal Type: SAE Top Post Reserve Capacity: 130 min. Apparently I need a new battery that will be able to handle the load of my subs. I am kinda a newbie to car audio on my own I usually get help from the forums. What would be the best battery to purchase. I really dont want to spend alot of money Im a college student so If I can avoid it I would be happy with something that will get me by but not so cheap that I waste my time.and little bit of money. LOL Thanks in advance Guys!

XS Power Battery
Nipsy06 replied to Nipsy06's topic in XS Power Batteries / Chargers! (and other stuff too)
No... I havent even put the subs in yet LOL... I was just thinking ahead in case it does happen -
I have a 2000 Buick Lesabre and I am currently hooking up 2 SDC 2.5 12s to an AQ1200d amp. I know my previous system I had wasn't anywhere near this level of power but I noticed my headlights dimming with my previous system. I figure since it happened on the old cheap system it would probably happen on this one. Im still in the process of finishing the build all of this is just a look into the future. Should I purchase 1 xs battery to relpace my stock battery to run my system on or would I need to purchase a xs battery and connect it to the stock battery somehow? Which XS battery should I purchase and how much is it? I am new to installing my own equipment so please break down the stuff for me because again I am new to installing car audio for myself. Thanks Guys!!!!

I have found another site with specs http://www.audioalli...p?Item=GP1600.1 . I dont want to connect this up and blow up anything but I have it wired at a 1 ohm load like the diagram. This equipment was wired wrong when i took it to the shop today and he told me to wire it in a series. He stated that the amp was not 1 ohm. Of course this was done by him just looking at it and not really doing any research. I dont want any of you guys to think I dont believe you I just want to make sure because I would really hate to blow this stuff and buy new equipment. Would it be safer to wire it down to a 4ohm or will 1 ohm be just fine. Again I am new to making my own connections and wiring subs is my weakness. I do currently have my subs wired at 1ohm but i have not wired back to the amp because I want to make sure on the forum that I have done it correctly.

I have 2 12" Audiobahn AW1200Q http://www.crutchfield.com/S-DLMNBAuBTq0/p_037AW1200Q/Audiobahn-AW1200Q.html?tab=features_and_specs#details-tab and A Crunch 1600watt amp http://www.audioallies.com/GetItem.asp?Item=GP1600.1. Thinking my equipment was bad.... I went to the audio shop and he told me the equipment was still good.(Wiring issues overheating my Amp. I want to know whats the best way to wire these 4ohm speakers to get the best power? Im still a rookie in the Car audio world and I am looking to do this stuff on my own to save more money. HELP PLEASE!!!!
