Capacitors are not storage devices. You can prove this yourself. Charge a capacitor. Watch the voltage drop exponentially. Capacitors only work when the existing electrical system is already next to perfect. Comparing capacitors to water, capacitors wouldn't be able to fix waves (or huge dips in voltage) but they would be able to even out the ripples in the water. (very small voltage fluctuations) That is all I have.

I see Big builds running rediculous size speaker outputs from amplifiers, anything from 8 gauge down to 4 gauge. So my question, can you give us more of a guideline or rule of thumb for power output vs. the size of speaker wire we should be using based on the amount of current running through the speaker wire?

Steve... Wanna keep this short and simple. I appreciate this community, and what you have done to create it, what you constantly do to contribute to it. You've personally sent me some money from a SOTM comp, which I was very thankful for.. And always will be. That shit doesn't grow on trees nor does it come easy. What I have noticed is that the a ton of your energy goes to commenting on the posts that haters create. A hater tells you "my system is louder with my cheap gear and way less power" ... You might rebuttle to that over recognizing the fan that says, "badass system!!" You get much so much more praise than you do hate, but you like to tell the haters what's up over thanking the fans that appreciate what you do. Give more attention to the fans Steve! Don't give the haters attention! You have been doing something right all this time to inspire as many people as you have. Keep doing what you're doing!

Nice vid. Point taken.... Wouldn't mind seeing the same test done with a load that draws more current than the power supply provide. We pull much more current than our alternators can provide. Therefore battery and alternator work together. Return paths contain exactly the same current as the source that provides it (whether it be alt or battery, or both simultaneously) according to Kirchhoff's law. I can picture how your bench setup might react, but I don't have the means to conduct an experiment like the one shown.

Great of you to address the reason why you're asking questions. Please feel free to post video responses to the questions you have addressed. I enjoy learning a thing or two. But above all, I really appreciate concrete, experimental videos. You've proven me wrong once, I hope you can prove me wrong again. I hope asking for videos isn't an issue, as I know you running primarilly an Internet based company. The more views you get directly affect the client base your company has.

Believe it or not, I actually drag race my Escy. NHRA does not allow batteries of any type inside the vehicle unless they are in a sealed, vented box, or behind a sealed firewall. Also, I tow my REAL race car with the truck, so between the sub box and the tongue weight of the trailer, I'm trying to keep from putting more weight in the rear. Pic racing with the old 22" wheels on it.... Hide the batteries in the sub box.... It's a sealed battery.
