  1. Just thought I would share a little project I've been working on..I've got 2 5.0k's I'm doing this to but this was alot of work so I'll show you the money shot's first then I'll finish the rest with kind of a build log set up but this way you wont have to wait till the end to see the results... your welcome so kinda hard to tell which was the point but the SMD D'Amore VM-1 OM-1 and TM-1 are behind the plexi I smoked some lit up pics soo yeah there are built in fans controlled by the TM-1 and are set to turn on when the inside of the amp reaches 100 degrees This will all be all internally wired I'm not done this isn't perfect needs some tlc before I'll call it good!! I'm leaving the contry for a month but just wanted to get this presentable before I left Soooo yeah if you want to point out any flaws....GFY! I have lots of pics of this thing being built but I'll post those later here's a small vid of them Also I couldnt hold the camera power it up to show the led's sweep because we all know thats one of the best parts of these ...couldn't do both and turn the led controller on......... so when both 5.0k's are done I'll post a vid of all 6 meters firing up if you want to check out my current truck build that all of this is going in that is here http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/169404-goodvibez-04-dmax-10k-center-console-rebuild-4-dc-xl-10s/page-20 dunno if you can tell but I love these things Lastly Thank you SMD and D'amore engineering for the help Much appreciated

  3. This is very nice work man. I thought I was doing well when I put a simple plexi back on my 5.0k lol. Edit: Nevermind, didn't read that far.

  5. Did some 45 action on the plexi a little flame polish still a little rough..but it works Now I hot glued all the fans in which imho should be just fine Then started soldering all the wires to the tm-1 then I just cut a window out and decided to use a smoked plexi cover little bondo to touch up some areas, was debating on wrapping or painting so wanted a smooth finish Then drilled and tapped holes in the amp for the bolts to hold it down the outside 4 bolts go all the way though no theads to bolt the amp down to my amp rack btw...was very uncomfortable drilling holes in the external heatsinks. here's how I smoked the plexi basically used some night shades pain to black out the outsides then pulled the tape and didi a few light coats to make the guages less noticeable but still very visible when lit up

  6. ok soo guess I'll start with just some pics of building this... DISCLAIMER: I am not responsible if you try anything like this and screw your self up...I'm sure this will void the amp warranty... Idk? this isn't super hard to do but there is some cash involved in this project so if I or anyone else screws something up that person is responsible for they're self that being said here's some pics Some smexy amp guts This is where I will be tapping into..hard to tell but there are holes already drilled and tapped into the power and ground blocks..found some screws that fit Will be stealing these to fuse it...yes it will be fused so I can access it from outside the amp easily...gotta be same now the fun part of coming up with a design heres how that went...first with pencil Then with sharpie was off center so I traced this and shifted it slightly with a template used a hole saw to help with getting the corners evenly used a 45 degree roughter bit all the way around inside but f'ed up one part I'll fix that with some bondo Here is an easy way to make a jig for SMD meters just cut round circles...then cut accordingly then flip the side to its flat on the bottom and glue staple...messed this up too kindo hard to judge with my hole saw the bit wandered around and put one closer than the others Then you can use double sided tape or finishing nails to hold the jig the piece you want cut and use a flush trim bit to trace perfect oulines of the odd shaped meters then I used a 45 again while the jig was still on there Testing

  8. Because facebook has the biggest reach in social media. 1+ billion active users. Makes sense for companies to spread the word on there. Nice competition though.
