  1. You know how they say time is money. Well when you spend all that time putting Peel and seal on to find out it falls off and you have to tear down the whole vehicle again and take it off then finally put the right stuff on that will perform. now did you really save any money doing that? If you dont have the money right now your best is to save until you can put the right product on. Do the project once but do it right.

  2. damn and i thought my test with the coffee can filled with nuts and bolts was scientific LOL! NICE test - thanks for taking the time! I am in the commercial roofing business so i am as guilty as anyone as for using peal and seal as a sound deadener. I might even venture out and say i was one of the first. That is unless there is other commercial roofers out there that had beat like me 20yrs ago when i first started at my company. I have access to all the products...foil back, duct-band, self adhered PVC, TPO and uncured Neoprene. Trust me i have used them all. I dont use P/S or any of the above anymore but i have You cant change your past, only your future -

  3. Yes I used an accelerometer. I can't remember the exact brand (I bought it quite a while ago), but I'll check. It was from an instrument manufacturer, that I do remember. Since it is still setup, I will run a 100% CLD coverage test today as well so there is a 100% vs. 100% graph. This transducer does not produce much, if any, audible sound. When mounted and fed an audio signal it shakes so you can FEEL the sound, not hear it. Basically a mini bass shaker. The reason I used the sine sweep is so that the transducer produces a constant, yet wide range of vibrations. The lower frequency range (at the beginning of the graph) obviously produce the higher amplitude vibrations since the transducer wasn't designed nor meant to reproduce/shake at the higher frequencies (the right side of the graph). The accelerometer is not a mic and does not pick up sound waves. Sure if the sound was loud enough and at the right frequency it could make the accelerometer resonate, but it does not pick up sound. You can literally hold the accelerometer in your hand and yell at it and it wont register anything (except for the small minute movements of you holding it). ^^^ checkmate. also in for results

  6. You didn't read the other thread (posted on CACO) did you? This test was performed to show that as little as 25% coverage of a true CLD will out perform 100% coverage of a roofing product. By no means is MfM (maker of Peel & Seal) or any of these roofing companies a threat. If anything I am trying to save people money by not having them purchase a product and use it for a purpose as to which it was not intended for. Buy Dynamat, buy RoadKill, buy eDead, buy whatever the hell you want, I don't care. This is just more information for those who would like to learn.

  7. So.... you're saying p&s is such a threat to you that this test was needed? Oh and that despite ignorant haters, it does in fact work, just not ~as~ good? Well then, thanks for clearing all that up. Been saying it for years. Oh and like it or not jon, as a salesman, everything you post will be construed as a sales pitch. Even if it's not.

  11. Nate, I know... I like to rig stuff just to prove my point and to sell a product. You know how much money the roofing industry is STEALING from us by having people use their product? Main thing for me to do is to move product and SELL SELL SELL!

  12. This is bullshit. There is no fucking way that peel and seal is not hte shit. You rigged this. Fuck your transducer and all that scientific testing equipment mumbo jumbo. Peel and seal and spray foam for life.
