  1. Yeah, I'm right there but I just thought I'd be able to get a 150 before I put my SAZ-3500Ds in. You are right it definitely moves some air, which is fun. I went to a small local show last weekend and once I did the first demo a crowd gathered real quick. Then the questions started. lol

hows your voltage? it might be your voltage or it might also be your box. you should do more than those numbers! or maybe your peak is lower but you burped a higher note?

  2. just stick with your amp if will only run the sundown @ 2ohms...

but if you plan to change subs later on, then go for it.

i have first hand experience with a 3000d refurb from db-r and they are really good amps, my customer is still using it till this day.

  4. I bought two DD 1508 to compare T/S specs to... the DD 1508 is WELL broken in as it is used.

    Sundown SA-8 (D2) / DD 1508 (D4) :

RE: 3.28 ohms (series) / 7.48 ohms (series)

    FS: 41.6 Hz / 44.6 Hz

    Qes: 0.513 / 0.844

    Qms: 6.606 / 9.217

    Qts: 0.476 / 0.773

    Le: 2.778 mH / 6.446 mH

    Vas: 3.285 L / 4.672 L

    BL: 17.138 N/A / 17.78 N/A

    Cms: 83.341 um/N / 99.97 uM/ N

    Mms: 175.654 g / 126.977 g

    Sens: 78.476 dB @ 1w/1m / 78.77 dB @ 1w/1m

    BL^2/RE: 89.5 / 42.26

BL^2/RE is an indication of static motor strength. Since BL doesn't tell you how strong a motor is without knowing the DCR this measure allows you to compare speakers with different DCR to each other.

For comparison shoppers this will give you an idea of what works best for you -- I couldn't find the T/S anywhere else for the 1508s so I got some :)

jacob, can you drop those dd's in the same box you made and compare the numbers with the sa-8?

  5. ok so we hooked my friends BTL to a saz-3000 today and as we where playing different songs we heard it popping. is that because its too many watts for the sub?or is it just how its tuned. allso its at 1ohm what do you people recomend to leave it at 1ohm or up to 2ohms???

what do you mean popping? like a thumping sound? did the sub move when it sort of "popped"?
