  1. How long does it take the material to cure ? Cost vs actual bedliner? He easy clean up is a huge bonus for a home builder .

drying is a few hours. a GOOD drying would be 24 hours. A full cure is like 30 days or something like that. It's pretty stout though after a night of sitting though :D
It really looks dam good . I'll be trying it on my next box . The last one I had sprayed with bedliner cost me $100 . Raptor liner isn't much cheaper if at all . Second skin really looks like the better option .
  2. Like the title says , the fucking stupidest thing I've done to date .

I got a few rolls a few years ago for free, and it looked enough like dynamat so I cleaned the doors ,and rolled it on 3 layers thick . It did sound better , but after this hot ass summer; my windows wouldnt roll down, locks quit working ect. So I'm in the process of a significant system upgrade , and I knew that I needed to re do my doors . What a fucking nightare . I've been at one door for almost 5 hrs and have be barely gotten the shit off the outer shell . The stuff on the outer skin is still there. Black fingers , a pile of ruined shop rags, and a whole roll of blue shop towels soaked in paint thinner. Once I get all the bullshit off , I'll be putting the door kit I got fri from second skin . We all gotta start somewhere . We don't all have to start where I did . Do Not Use Peel and Seal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It prolly sucks for what it's made for too.

Second time is a charm !

Sorry you had to learn the hard way, but like you said challenge accepted and time to get done right this time. We would love to have the images involved with your pains (not to laugh but to help educate more installers for the future). If you would like to share them we would use them on our Social media pages to help others not do this too. We would of course crop out any part of the photo identifying you if you want us to. You can send them to us at [email protected] we would love to share them. If you have any questions or concerns with your re-build please do not hesitate to contact us as we will help you through any sound deadening questions you may have, either by email or phone at 1-800-679-8511.

Good Luck with your re-build and have some fun when you get past all the sticky/yucky part. Thanks for choosing Second Skin Damplifier Pro for your new install, we apprecaite our customers and are thankful for your support of our high quality American made products.

    Second Skin For The Win!!!

Just a single layer of damplifier , and luxury liner is far and above what 3 layers on the inside ,and outside of my door with p&s was. The door kit had more than enough to do my silverado doors . I can't belive the difference in the two.

I'll be buying more to do the roof , back panel , and floor !

  3. I am getting ready to re do my doors too. Second skin for the win. Those tweeter brackets look interesting. How do they mount?

Those are riveted to the pillar moulding then screwed to the pillar. They are temp to see if I like the placement ,and sound . If it works out I'll glass them in . Also those are the Dayton audio reference 4 ohm tweeters . Outta $$$ for the matching hertz ones. These are supposed to be able to be crossed as low as 1000hz ,and handle 100 watts . So the p300x 2 is for them , and the p1000x2 is for the millies

  4. So here's a link to some photos in no particular order of the mess from the peel & seal , and my componet upgrades . I also included a pic or two of my instalation of second skin damplifier, and luxury liner . Not a single scrap went to waste . Every cut off piece of damplifier was heated ,and rolled on the back side of the panel surrounding the driver . The door kit had enough luxury liner to line the inside of the door from the beam down . In addition to the damplifier /ll combo , I added a entire pack of Q-pads heated &rolled of course .

  5. Best time of year to remove that shit is in winter when the temps drop enough to cause it to harden to the point where it comes off in sheets instead of some gooey ass mess, and when it is hot it is an insane nightmare sticking to anything and everything and coating you in a black sticky mess. Once you get the bulk off, just resort to acetone to begin the cleanup of the residue that is stuck to everything.

Actually I thought the same thing , but I wound up using a heat gun . I heated it until it was a stinky gooey mess, then I used a ball of it to pick it off . Then I wiped the residue off with paint thinner . I'll prolly go over it again with acetone with clean rags . I'll have to look and see what the recomended surface prep for the second skin door kit .

  6. Funny thing is almost everyone on this forum warns people to NOT USE ASPHALT BASED DEADENERS OR ROOFING PRODUCTS on their car, but people do anyways because it is soooooooooo much cheaper and looks the same. These kind of threads pop up just as much as the ebay alternator topics...

So now instead of buying a quality product your stuck doing the job that you already did a second time but first your stuck cleaning up the mess of the old "deadener".

Cant say I feel sorry for ya, a quick google search would of saved you a lot of time and pain before you even attempted to use roofing products in your car.

So all I can do is laugh!

    Enjoy :rofl::yahoo::P

  9. Well as of now at least one other owner has experienced a similar multiple pairing . My main issue is still the lack of range when paired . I work in the farthest corner from the sitter in a 20k sq ft shop ,and I can wear my bluebuds to the bathroom . Hell I've even answered a call . My diamond box cuts out when it's sitting on my tool box ,and I walk around to trunk of the car I'm working on .

  10. I noticed with mine if I go through my house it is bad with reception, but I have never used anything else with bluetooth other than a very high end logitech headset, and only into the other room. I have noticed though, which I believe is my PC's fault, but it has very hard times connecting to it. I really think that is my wifi/BT adapter for my pc being shitty.

I took mine up to the woods to cut firewood , and I had the same issue . I'm connecting with either a galaxy s5 or iPhone 5 . Another funny anomaly is my wife's s5 ,and mine can connect to the boxx at the same time . I'm playing music one day ,and I can hear her stupid bubble pop game too .

I have had that happen so many times I unpaired my PC and the box. I would play music off of my phone, turn my pc on and here the boop boop for it connecting. Worst is, if I am jamming, that's really loud lol.

  12. So since I've gotten my diamondboxx the bluetooth has been a little off . Have any other boxx owners noticed any issues with Bluetooth ? I can't get more than 10-15 feet from mine without it cutting out . If my phones In my pocket and I turn away from the boxx it cuts out . If someone stands between myself, and the boxx it cuts out .

IT does not matter where I am with it ,so interference is unlikely I guess. Its also strange that my bluebudsx headphones stay connected at Very long distances, so I'm guessing it's not my phone . Another weird thing is that when the boxx is in between songs, or just on with the volume up there is a very noticeable digital sound for lack of a better discription . Is that just how they are ,or is mine having an issue ? I tried emailing diamondboxx yesterday ,and today but I haven't recived a reply .
