What does ur headunit outputs/rca's clip at?? Meaning before/without amps. I still dont get why ur adjusting ur amp settings by turning up the headunit. Maybe thats some kinna different setup ive never looked into.
-
Dont you only need to find the volume distortion of the headunit? Not the amps volume distortion. Find where the headunit outputs distorts ( amps not part of this step, you can disconect amps), use 40hz test tone to find what volume that distorts, then do the same with a 1000hz test tone. Use the lower distortion point of both, example:40hz clips at 31volume and 1000hz clips at 33volume, that means 30volume is the highest u can go without clipping, if u turn it to 31 your headunits signal clips. So now u can set ur amp gains. Turn headunit to 30, turn amp gains all the way down. Play the tones again and set it right before clipping. I think thats how it goes.

Oh damn, finally gonna get to see that HU in action! I was between that Sony or the pioneer 99. Went with the 99, i couldnt let go of CD's lol. Are you gonna be showcasing that classy HU or mount it behind the ipad???? Showcasing it somehow would be dope. New huge ass ipad, AND the new sony HI Res HU. Cant wait to see the vids.

Gonna have Mark from car auido fabrication do the vid? He does awesome "attention to detail" style of work. Some might call it overkill lol but i prefer over the top work rather then corner cutting work. Is this new product alot slimmer, than the heat wave pro and LLP?

Epoxy onto D pro?
06RTCharger replied to 06RTCharger's topic in Second Skin Sound Deadening and Automotive Insulation!
But i might be doing the technique that someone mentioned a lil while ago about bending a flat bar to shape and mounting that the the seat rails. I still have to check out my seats if its possible. Might still try the epoxy for other amps/locations -

Never thought of that. Actually someone mightve mentioned doing this on my other post, i forgot about that method. Thats another great alternative i could try. Thanks man, much appreciated. -

Epoxy onto D pro?

It might be a dumb idea. Im very new to this. Reason for me not using screws is im too worried about screwing into the floor where i cant tell whats under it. I looked under the car and theres stuff there but what is it? Idk lol it all just looks like metal to me, i cant tell whats what under the car, only thing i can identify under there is the exhaust pipes. So i started looking for alternative techniques to mount an amp to the floor and be secure. Thats where the epoxy idea came about. I could just epoxy the bracket to the metal body, but "if" i ever decide to take that amp and mount out, i think it would be harder if it was epoxied to the actual metal. With the damplifier i could just cut out the exact shape under the bracket, and rip up the damplifer, up comes the damp and bracket..... Then just cut a new peice of damp and lay it in there...good as new. Seems reasonable to me. -
Epoxy onto D pro?

Yes no screws for that amp under the front seat. I dont think i need extreme strength to stop an amp from moving around under a seat. Im not a racer or a drifter lol. There shouldnt be much force moving an amp thats layed flat on the floor of the car. If i get in some kind of an accident, i dont think id be worried about an amp. -
Epoxy onto D pro?

Basically. Not putting epoxy on the actual amp. Just the spacer that im going to mount the amp to. Bare metal floor of my cars body then damplifier pro, then amp bracket/spacer, then amp. Thats the idea anyway. I was originally planning on using epoxy to mount the bracket directly to the metal body, then realised im laying damplifier over the whole interior and trunk. So i came here to ask Second Skin if it would be alright to glue a bracket to their product.
